absolutely! someone else uploaded this same version back in 2010 and it was removed a few years later. i was devastated and couldn’t find it anywhere else until now.
This version used to be on TH-cam back in the 2010’s and it was removed! I’m so thankful you re-uploaded it! This is Brad’s ultimate rendition of Paranoid Android!
@@daviddelayat-dnapictures Unfortunately, many of his live concert performances have disappeared from TH-cam since that time. I’m thankful for this being uploaded again.
I always listen to that song with the same feeling and overwhelming emotion, for me when I take the time to listen to it completely and silently I feel like it's a detailed story of my lifetime like since I'm born to the day I die in just one song. Thinking that life is just a series of challenge that leads you to enjoy the sweet and nice but short moments that could accur through all that crap sometimes. Makes me cry all the time damn you Brad !
I wonder how much of this is improvised, does he ever loose his place in the song in the moment and meander back to where he should be? I get the feeling playing this song was as much of a journey of discovery for him as it is for us.
Hi Joel. It is hard to answer this question but it is fun to think about it. I think Brad has a particularly unique talent which allows him to play syncopations that are beyond the reach of most of us. Knowledge being experiential, we are left to guess at what it is like to play at his level. That said, patterns can be practiced and learned, then spliced together - (seamlessly, one would hope) - which give the illusion of brilliance. What we think of as talent might just be the product of dedicated practice and skill development. When our skills are fully developed, our musical "style" is just a dialect of the language called music. Could someone improvise within that dialect with such perfection that the listener cannot discern error from intention? Yes, I suppose that is possible.
Can anybody indicate what album is this version included in? I know it is not Largo, nor Tokyo. I have been acquainted with it for almost twenty years now.
this earlier version is better than the 2002 version on Largo, I was getting some Mandela effect vibes on Spotify until I found this one. I think it's from Deregulating Jazz which was only released as a promo and explains why it isn't on Spotify. I remember having it as a promo at a record store I worked at.
One of the best pianists of our time. He will be remembered decades from now.
TH-cam really made me search hard for this version, but this version is THE version IMO.
agreed. i think josh cohns version is savage but i feel he over did it. he started at 100 from bassically the start

Amazingly nuanced harmonic arrangement!!
Excellent. Was singing along with it 😂
Great distinction between notes that matter and notes that don’t! Loved it.
so far his best cover of Paranoid Android!
Brilliant!!! Thank you❤️🌸🤗

Omg the punctuated, syncopated jazz rhythm is making me believe in humanity again. Rediscovering old favs rules.
This is his best performance of Paranoid Android, hands down!
Saw him live many years ago in a beautiful theatre, I still remember the emotion when he played this song
is this version from his concert in Perugia?
Absolument magnifique !!!
I needed to find this today. A22 sent me here, bless them, and bless you.

I think he knows his shit too well to truly get lost when improvising

Me too, I've been listening to it since 2005 and I still don't know which album it's in

I think this is on the release titled, "Deregulating Jazz"

I want to brew him my moka pot special coffee and then ask him to do this on a harpsichord.
Bellisimo
Numero 1 tutti gli altri non son nessuno.

In which album is this version available? I always thought that is on “Largo” album but Spotify plays another version in trio

Great pianist but in the final section there are too many variations from the original version.
