This looks like a rebrand of the Kasa KL400L5 but with Tapo software instead of Kasa's. There was supposed to be an update to the Kasa version to add the sound-sync functionality but it was never delivered.
Hi, if I want to replace existing standard LED strips (no wifi) in my garden inside a cover connected to a transformer, is it possible? I turn the LED on and off normally with the switch like a normal light bulb. Thank you
So you can the strip (on Amazon it says it’s cuttable) which is useful as I don’t need 5 metres. But how do you connect it to the power once you’ve cut it? Do you need another adapter, etc? I have a feeling I’m missing the obvious
@@jamesa6091 Your response makes sense, but maybe they were thinking more along the lines of what you do with the piece you cut off - now you have a useless strip of LEDs with no way to use them for a future project (due to the lack of a second power supply). I had to order 2 sets of strips, just to I can cut one in half (I only need 2.5m in 2 different locations) and power each of the cut pieces with 2 PSUs (1 PSU in each pack) - this then leaves me with a complete 5m strip with no power source, but hopefully they'll sell just the power block on its own at some point in the future (unless they do that already). If they market the product as "cuttable" then they need to make sure customers have a way of using those cut pieces in other projects.
I only get to the part where the wifi is connected and it's supposed to link with the tape device, but for me it's just thinking for about 5 min and doesn't connect. I have tried on multiple devices and accounts but nothing works. I have even tried manufacture restart.
I purchased this light strip yesterday and am quite satisfied with all those effects and options, however I think the music synchronization is a bit off. I connected my phone to speaker via bluetooth and played some songs, opened the Tapo app and especially payed attention to the rhytm and beats, if it is really synced with particular music/ different generes, melodies atc.. and surprisingly the rhytm was always the same. It's not really a big deal for me since I won't use this "effect" much often, but still it's quite underwhelming.. I expected the strip to be really synced with the music played in the background. I was also kinda excited that I will have the option to change effects, or at least some color scheme while playing certain music, and what you can do is only change one color while the beats are dropping.. I don't know man. Overall I'm satisfied with the purchase, but this is probably the only thing that kinda dissapointed me. What about your experince? 🕺🏻
Hi Luca, could you please check if your network is properly connected with the Tapo app? If it doesn't solve your issue, could you please send us a DM through our twitter or FB and we can assign a technical engineer for you.
How do you access the remaining color palettes through the app? The video only shows 7 base colors.

can you give the measurements of the adapter cable and the switch to led strip cable?
Music Sync does not work at least in Australia with Apple App with the L900-5 Model
You need iOS ver.12 or higher, hope this should solve the problem.
How many of these can you daisy chain together

Excellent preview and very helpful, thanks 👍
What’s with the duplicate products and different names noticed this with your cameras and lighting
Can two strips sync in the mobile application? For example two 5m strips powered separately can be synced in the application so that they work as one
How bright is it in a room?

Cut it the non plug/connector end.

Are they good for roof

Sadly no
Do these have a designated white LED?
No

Same problem
Did you find a solution??
Change the channel of your router
can you customise the length on the light strips?
Yes
@@ashwinramesh9413 Do you if there is an alternative for the extension thingy, and if I can buy an adapter or extension thing for cheaper?
I don't know if you can extend the strip but you can definitely cut it.
Does tapo have a grouping feature?
Good question!
Handy for first-time users, precise.

If I cut it, will I be able to use the other part?
do u need a home wifi to use it ?
How many leds it has?
mine fails to pair, the strip is immediately recognized by the Tapo app, then when trying to connect it to my network it fails, any suggestion?

@@tp-linkuk Nice to see you are capable of replying. Why have you ignored every other customer?
Hi Luca, did you solve the problem ? I have exactly the same issue as you had.
Wait! 01:50
Why is there a switch in your plug?
🤔🤔🤔
That's so strange.
You put the two connections in the wrong way so the lights shouldn’t have turned on
Anyone know if you can link these to your existing tapo bulbs? Thanks in advance
Yeah they link to the tapo home app so kind of
after 2 years, the strip lights up very weakly
music sync has this weird glitching noise
My Lights don’t connect to Wifi and they ask for password. What do i do?
