"Great review! The Hoka Clifton 10 looks like an amazing shoe for comfort and performance. I love how you went into detail about the fit, cushioning, and overall feel. Definitely considering trying them out based on your insights!"
Clifton doesn’t make it into my rotation anymore these days but I just love the history of this shoe and the nostalgia it brings. Clifton 7 was the first real running shoe I sank my feet in and it made me feel like I, a fat non-runner at the time, could successfully run more than a couple of miles a week.
I have the Clifton 8, it bottoms out very easily and feels very unstable too. The whole upper just feels very loose. I for one never needed a "stability shoe" but wearing the Cliftons makes me wish i did. I got me a pair of New Balance SC Trainer v3 and for treadmill/cross trainer/workouts just use Puma Velocity/Liberate Nitro as they're lower, firmer and tighter, feeling like a much more stable shoe. I mostly use the Cliftons as a lifestyle shoe.
same thought I tried the Clifton 9 last week in the store. But if I would choose a Hooka shoe I would go with the Mach 6 as it's just more "fun" . Guess the Clifton is more for the people that start running but once you get out of that phase a bit you go for some other shoes imo
Happy New Year Alastair. Yes I got my first run of the year in this morning after breakfast. As for the Clifton I have enough daily trainers for now but I’d love to try one on to check it out on foot. I guess I will come April because they are easy to find.
Thanks Tom! Happy New Year to you and your family too! Glad you got that run in! It feels good starting the year off with some exercise doesn’t it! 💪🏼 start as we mean to go on 👊🏼
Yes, hoping to have it published today! But if you can’t wait, I’ve already written my blog review of it: www.trailandkale.com/shoe-reviews/hoka-bondi-9-review/
Have 2 Clifton 9's, one is the same blue one shown in this video. Foam died after 100 miles. As same foam used in the 10 will give it a miss, wait to the 11 when Hoka hopefully gives bigger update. Mach 6 is superb.
It is quite similar I’ll admit! I’m actually thinking about doing a video exposing all the overlap shoes from each brand, and letting my subscribers know which ones are best and which I think the brands should consider dropping out of their lineup. Could be a fun one to put together. Back to your question, I personally prefer the Skyflow due to the 5mm drop - it just feels more natural to me as a forefoot striker. It’s also a lighter shoe!
I have plantar fasciitis and a plantar spur I found out about the Hoka shoes from my niece who suffered from a bout of plantar fasciitis and went online to find some shoes that she could wear with her condition and found out that Hokas were good for this so I bought Hoka Clifton 9 and I wear them pretty much day and night because I have hardwood floors and hard tiles it’s the only thing I can wear..do you know if the Clifton 10 is the same as the 9
Costs more money, looks like every other Hoka shoe (way too bulky like the Bondi with no middle plate color to make it look less bulky) and the logo moving from the heel to the middle of the shoe looks terrible. Guess Ill buy a few more 9s before this transition...

Happy new year, everyone. Wish y'all the best and keep running!
Happy new year to you too! ✌🏼

That’s exactly it! It enables you to do more and grow as a runner. Spot on

Happy new year and good review. I’m personally looking forward to the new Bondi 9. Will you have a Bondi 9 review soon?
Yes, hoping to have it published today! But if you can’t wait, I’ve already written my blog review of it: www.trailandkale.com/shoe-reviews/hoka-bondi-9-review/

Mach 6 is an awesome speed training shoe
Is there a black clifton 10 coming
Yes there is! It will have a white midsole though
So the Clifton 10 or the Skyflow? I heard the Skyflow is just like the Clifton. Which shoe do you prefer?

Yes it’s a very similar shoe overall, I’ve written about the key differences here: www.trailandkale.com/shoe-reviews/hoka-clifton-10-review/
I’ve had 3 pair of Clifton 9’s. I think the 10 is going to be a pass for me. Added weight and drop is a no go.
Yeah it’s a really odd new direction for Hoka on what is one of their most popular models
The 8 was so much better than the 9, hopefully this one won't strike out.
I missed the 8
This update is sad, seems aimed at walkers and long standing rather than runners.
Yes I feel they may be targeting beginner runners more

It’s nowhere near the bullies of the bondi series - very different shoes. Bondi 9 review coming soon…
