I have like looking back at Miami Dolphins NFL American football playing with F1 drivers and I can remember Alex Albon saying rugby is better.

since you only have 5 tackles in league its more running and how your gonna get to the try line without just falling over and taking 20 tackles to get there

I mean F1 gets pretty predictable at times. Watch a full F1 race that isn’t chaotic and it gets dull quick. Definitely better but not miles better.

Niether a fan of Rugby or NFL, people say Rugby is harder because thay dont wear pretection🤔
What if NFL players did not wear protection? The American game seems more head on whilst from what I've seen Rugby is more diagonal with less head on impact.

So I've played a bit of both and I'd say the hits in Football are waaay more violent. The padding in football is less for protection and more for offense. Similar to how boxing evolved from bare knuckle to wearing gloves. Most people think it was to make boxing safer but it was actually done so you can throw a harder punch without hurting your own hand.
Not to say there aren't big hits in rugby and that it's not physical because it absolutely is! Football is just more explosive.
@@gsant1162 I have to defend my favourite, rugby, but the padding argument, to anyone who's played a similar contact sport is a joke at best and BS at worst. no amount of padding will stop a man with arms larger then my calves pulling sideways against your head. rugby has rules against dangerous plays, in NFL they are close to non existence. I still think that rugby is a more brutal sport from a hit to hit basis, because most tackles are shoulder to chest or core, but in terms of brutality of the tackles NFL has us beat. I think its also important to remember that most injuries in rugby are foul plays or dangerous plays from the injured party, in the NFL its much more likely for injury or concussions to be fully legal.

Rugby players take decent hits and play constantly. Grid iron has breaks every couple of minutes. A Rugby player has to be fit to run around for up to 80 minutes .

Rugby League and Rugby Union I find more exciting to watch. The reason the NFL is so big is they stop the game and sell you everything from insurance to burgers. Rinse and repeat. No commercials in Rugby. Rugby is much safer.

I have played rugby league, and have supported At Helens for 60years, and Brisbane Broncos. I played at fly half and weighed 65kg and was playing against players weighing 98kg, NO PADDING. One quote about the game is that "it's a game for gentleman played by hooligans". RL is a far tougher game.
I'm American and while football is the most popular sport here, I much prefer basketball lol. I'd even watch real football over American.
