Great list brother. My oldest barbershop is Astor by G.F. Trumper. It came out in 1880 and is old-school. Great as an aftershave though my wife thinks it smells dirty, possibly from the caraway. Zino is also a favorite from the category and Azzarro ph.❤
I have all of these featured here except the Navatus, and only a decant of the Roja Danger. "Barbershop" is a personal designation to a large degree, but as he said typically smells like products used in a barbershop or reminds people of them, and often is a Fougere. For ME, a barbershop fragrance is a true Fougere who's earthy, vegetal coumarin-like accord has been diminished slightly so that a powdery or soapy accord can be introduced. I usually don't consider more straightforward Citrus Aromatics as barbershop fragrances like so many.ither people do. Even with some Fougeres, I consider them more straightforward classic fougeres or simply not really very barbershop. Two in this latter category for ME, and I stress it's my personal classification, are Creed Bois du Portugal and Guerlain Heritage. A few notes about the frags featured in this video: Le Male/HdP 1725: Lots of vanilla. Paco Rabanne Pour Homme: The soapiness smells to "cheap" for me. I like Azzaro Pour Homme much more. Guerlain Heritage: I have the older Gold Cap vintage EDT, the silver cap vintage EDT, and the more modern EDP in the 'listerine' bottle. This sits at my #4 favorite frag of all time, right next to Bois du Portugal. Dua Mr. Barber: Way too metallic smelling for me. That's why I don't like Martin Margiela Replica At the Barbers. Roja Danger: Very nice. Slightly animalic Heritage DNA. Versace L'homme: I don't consider this a "barbershop" fragrance, and certainly not a Fougere. It smells sharply "pissy", like civet and/or aldehydes are turned up. It smells more like Givenchy Gentleman EDT from 1974 than a Fougere. Hermés Equipage: Again, I don't consider this a Fougere nor very "barbershop". I like it though. It's more of an airy Spicy Aromatic for me. The aldehyde note gives it the airiness. Penhaligon Sartorial: Really intended replica of a specific Saville Row tailoring shop, it does double duty as a complex barbershop Fougere. My top fragrances in my Barbershop Fougere collection are: Tom Ford Beau de Jour MDCI Invasion Barbare YSL Rive Gauche Pour Homme Penhaligon Sartorial I also have Houbigant Fougere Royale (2010) and Amouage Bracken Man, but don't consider those more classic strait ahead fougeres very "barbershop".
As you said, everyone has a slightly different definition of what constitutes a barbershop fragrance. I always think of Tom Ford Beau de Jour. I love that one. However, the traditional British barbershops I have always had my hair cut in don't really smell like that at all. I've very often detected Bay Rum in these businesses but the closest thing I own that reminds me of them is Pashana Original Aftershave. That one nails it.
I’m French and your pronunciation is great 👍 Keep up the good work ! I’m 45 and as a teen eager pi was one of my favourite! Aqua di gio, dune amd Herrera for man change my life 👌
@@Redolessence I wish they would make an extrait of dune because it’s pretty weak now,or a niche house to make their version of it like parlez moi de parfum wake up/minotaure
Nice set of perfumes. I agree with your choice, altough i would add my personal No.1 which is Azzaro PH. This scent is all time masterpiece. Sartorial is also good, but sadly it is discontinued. Guerlain Heritage is my choice from your set.
You my Boy now but i respectfully disagree on 2 fragrances that being Casanove 1725 and Roja Dove Danger...I mean not to my taste but Bayolea Penhaligon's really does have that barber Shop feel.....as always thanks for your time !!!
Nice list. Never thought you would be a Paco Rabane Pour homme or Hermès equipage fan, nice. Personally I think they're great fragrances too, classics from the 1970s. I would have added YSL Rive Gauche and Floris Elite but you have to make a cut somewhere.
The best genre! Yes to all you listen lol. Agree with the Heritage/Danger comparison as Chanel’s Pour Monsieur is comparable to Scandal. But still neither of them are redundant to own all in every variations 🤣 Here’s another 10 must have fougeres: Monsieur de Givenchy YSL Pour Homme Armani Eau Pour Homme LV’s Sur La Route P Nicolai’s New York Intense Clive C’s XXI Cypress Roja’s Britannia Rania J’s Lavande 44 GF Trumper’s Paisley Rogue’s Mousse Illuminee
Drakkar noir ( j'ai beau de jour, Danger , sartorial.... Au total 7 sur les 10 proposés je les ai. Mais je trouve dommage qu'il n'ait évoqué Drakkar noir !!!
Platinum Egoiste smells 100% like my barber 😂😂😂 fresh Cut hair , some hair gel … some fresh notes and some clean ones . So good and unique
Great video with some great choices in there and I enjoyed it and have a blessed day

Thank you so much! Zino is a classic!!
When I go to my barber to get my hair cut , sometimes he uses Pinaud Clubman shave cream if I get a shave from there. Does smell pretty good

Beau De Jour and Zino for me. They're similar, but to me they are the best in the genre.
Brilliant selection. Very useful.
Azzaro Pour Hoome
Nice set of perfumes. I agree with your choice, altough i would add my personal No.1 which is Azzaro PH. This scent is all time masterpiece.
Sartorial is also good, but sadly it is discontinued. Guerlain Heritage is my choice from your set.
Versace L’homme is BOSS ! Leather , Rose , Basil and The Citrus 00F so good
Sartorial is #1, agreed!
Thank you so much for watching

I love Floris No89, Special 127 and Limes. To me they are barbershop.
MM At the barber is also great

I've got Mr. Barber on the way.
Another one that is perfect is dapper 1959 by Alexandria.
Hope you love it!
