Your videos have been great - am attempting a similar projects and sharing your learning of what worked and didn’t has helped loads.

      Nice one! 👍🏻
I made loads of mistakes, but going slow and steady was the key. The guy who delivered the sleepers told me that he was one year into his renovation. I told him that I was planning to be done with mine in 6 weeks. 18 months later and I'm still not fully finished! 🤣

Nice work mate. Solid effort. Might attempt this myself this summer.

Do it! After about an hour, I was spent - regretted starting 🤣
But I'm now 18 months into the renovation and it's well worth it!

Big job mate if you can get a micro digger in back breaking stuff.

I’ve learnt that the hard today. Brought the trench down the the depth it needs to be and started digging a smaller trench for the hardcore. Back is in bits now! May look into hiring a micro digger, they don’t seem too expensive. I have a few weeks off work and thought I’d be able to spend a couple doing the renovation - looking more like the entire summer!

@@NoviceGardener not expensive and will save a lot of work also be prepared for the amount of dirt that comes out the bulking factor of that clay will be 30 - 40% and if you can remove it from site and get some decent topsoil in there.

Can you tell me how many hours it took to complete the digging?

I couldn't say. But what I can say is that it took about 4-5 days. A few hours here and there. But it took so much longer than I had planned!
