Wow Shelby very nice presentation. Nice attention to detail and you are very articulate thank you for showing us this car. I hope your father feels better soon. Take care and be well.
My family lived across the street where DeSotos were parked from the assembly plant waiting to be moved by rail or truck hauler until '58 when production was moved to Jefferson assembly on the east side. The plant was updated & became McGraw glass. The '57s seemed to be the most impressive looking & I remember an open house including a tour of the plant in late '56 on a Sunday. Chrysler seemed to do no wrong then & was celebrating the forward look of their car line. Great times & memories.
The cars from yesteryear were beautiful classy and elegant not like the cars of today. That was Detroit's heydays never to be seen again. Jay get well.
When a nice car 🚗, I've heard that Volo is a great place to visit, basically a car show that you can purchase, sounds awesome to me...😊 Edit: i apologize for not adding this to my original post, I hope 🙏 that your father gets better soon...
That car had some in your face styling cues. They pulled out the stops on bling and went big on the fins. Wasn’t for everyone but some thought it the cats’s meow.
Almost bought one of these in 1976 for $1200. It was the same color combo, but was missing the carb set up. Had been replaced by a four-barrel. Last minute the older guy decided to keep it in case one of his kids might want it. Wonder what ever happened to it.
I wrote to the company telling them I was not on computer requesting a few photos and some information. The company did not answer my letter. I omitted to tell them that subject to information received I would make a trip to them. They are only 40 miles from O'hare Airport. Chicago and I would want to know public transport from airport to their site. If they pick up this communication my visit would have to be next year now. Shame I didn't receive to my letter. Cheers
Sorry to hear about this. While I can't say for certain what happened with your letter, I'll try to help and direct you to get the best answers the fastest. @VoloMuseumAutoSales Belatedly, thank you for your response to my earlier contact with your company y. I do plan a visit next year now and will notify your sales department accordingly. The car manufacturers I like are, Mercury, Ford, Chevrolet, and models no longer produced. Studebaker. DeSoto, Hudson etc. I hope to visit 2025. Cheers Tony Moore
It was an LP turntable. Wouldn’t surprise me if it still exists and could be easily reinstalled. I give the restorer credit for finding a unique way to modernize the audio while also hiding it. The clock not working is nearly always true on these classics. Shelby said the original A/C was inoperable.

It's called a teleprompter.
Thanks Shelby!
And the speedometer goes to 150 mph. Wow!
Fins. Chrysler had a lot of fun with fins. Nice presentation. Did not take long for this to be sold.
Stylish and classy.
I wasn’t looking at the car!

modern cars are nothing compared to it
I remember them new and my goodness me what a car that was and with today’s modernise it looks even more beautiful than it did and it was new .

That car had some in your face styling cues.
They pulled out the stops on bling and went big on the fins.
Wasn’t for everyone but some thought it the cats’s meow.
But what do YOU think of it? 🤔
My dad had one , red with white top and white stripe!❤
Sounds very nice! Did he keep it awhile?
@@VoloMuseumAutoSales Couple of years. My big sister learned to drive on it then trashed it. He traded for a 1960 New Yorker.

The fuel injected 57 Chevy was also a car that developed one horsepower per QB can so it might be argumentative that De Soto was the first
57 DeSoto is the best looking American automobile ever.
A BEAUTIFUL CAR !!!!
Nice car 🚗 👌 👍 👏 😎 😀
That's great he didn't get humbled and neither would I!
is there a more spectacular Forward Look anything? no, i didn't think so
Wow nice car😊👍
I have the same problem your dad has. It's extremely painful and forced me to retire from my 34-year career as a Registered Nurse.
Belleza ❤
Groovy car
This was a counter to Plymouth’s Fury 💥🤗😬

A nice find. I'm disappointed someone stuck a CD player inside of the Highway HiFi case. Clock isn't working. Wondering what else isn't working?

Я бы своей дочери не позволил выйти на экран в таком вызывающем виде!!!
Sangre de conquistador español
The entirety of the automobile resto world is absolutely ridiculous with its pricing.
Yummy 😂
P
Shameful wheels
Voce metallica e sgraziata 👎👎👎per gli orecchi degli italiani . La macchina presentata è invece bellissima 👍👍👍!!!.
