    I've been watching and learning from you since the 70's. I got to meet you and shake your hand when I was 13, but I was too star struck to say anything but hello. I would like to say thank you for the decades of great content. You are the GOAT in the bass fishing world.

    I've always used Berkley Trilene fishing line in all of my reels. It's super strong and highly dependable. I've never used anything else. 👍👍

    What funny is to watch an old early 90's bill dance great outdoors volume. 6 or so and just see how much the gear and rigging and techniques have changed and evolved over time when I watched the ultra-light bassin' segment I couldn't imagine using those old spincast reels and such lol

    I really enjoyed what you talked about on the DU podcast about your grandfather teaching you about fish anatomy. Even today, people greatly underestimate how good the sense of sight is for most fish, and I think they're leaving fish on the table by trying to focus on "lateral line" sensations rather than just imitating the way things move that bass like to eat. The only other person I know who has stressed the importance of sight to the same extent is probably Doug Hannon.

    I was always told growing up that bass have the best eyes in the universe and can see UV, Infra red, and even X-ray. They can see colors that don't even really exist! The truth is that bass only have 2 cones in their eyes and are essentially colorblind. They see the colors red and green best. They can't even see blue or chartreuse. To them, those colors look gray and white, respectively.

    I am Japanese. Unfortunately, bass fishing with soft plastic lures is very popular in Japan. It is very boring. And in recent years, many self-proclaimed professionals in Japan have been participating in bassmaster tournaments. When I meet an angler in pond and he asks me which TH-cam video he should watch, I tell him Bill Dance. Yes, that's you.

    How many years has bill been breaking bass jaws holding them like that? All the years of fishing and he never heard how to hold a fish without causing damage?

    I have a few old trading cards of Bill. I was wondering if I could send them for him to sign. I would include the return mailing envelope with postage.

    Hey Bill! I'd really love to know as much as I can about the offset seat post you fish from. I'm seriously considering getting one and would appreciate some feedback from someone such as yourself who use them often. What do you like most about it and how do you get yours to swivel? The fine folks at Attwood tell me that since their model has a threaded pin it is fixed and doesn't swivel. I look forward to your answer.

    Hey bill I have a two questions to ask . Do you still use a color selecter for checking the water to see what color of lure to use and what is the biggest largemouth bass you have ever caught

    Red hooks gives the lures the appearance of bleeding I could be wrong about that though.

    Something else that that people who are new to the fishing world don't think about is setting proper line drag they don't think it nessary to set the drag.

    • @billdance
      @billdance  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      You can lose a big one with the wrong drag setting.

    • @shadowwolf9329

      I have lost fish because even though I have fishing for several years and yet I failed to set the drag tension right one blooper was a big fish unspooled my reel
