    You forgot to mention one of the coolest things about chondrules (to me, as a physicist, at least) - that after years of study there is still no consensus on the mechanism by which they were formed and those tiny chondrules made up most of the stuff in the early Solar system. Theories range from interesting to completely mental (huge space lightning). Also, wanted to say that there is something incredibly sad about L3.00 W2. It's has survived probably very close to 4.567 billion years, against all all odds, of not being altered from it's pristine state and gets altered a year or possibly a month before it's found. Few times I considered bidding on 3.00 W2 but knew it would break my hart thinking about how close it has come to 'survive' intact, just to 'fail' at the last instant.

      That is rather ironic. I have a LL3.15-W1/2 that's as close as I get.

    Thanks Topher! You guys are great! Really enjoyed this, and learned a lot! I work in the Geology Dept. at Glendale Community College in Glendale AZ, and I am the one that everyone always directs the public to, with their meteorite "finds"...over the last 30 years, I believe I have actually had one that was an actual meteorite! Learning more about them will help me for sure! Better than looking at thousands of pictures a dozen or more times, for sure! LOL!!

    Hello again, my ? Is I use a heavy and light magnet. I find the light small magnet sticks to the BRECIA is type metiorites but hard to get a big magnet to find hot spots. Dose this make sense. I worry when the large didn't stick but feel better when small one finds things to cling to. Is this a excetable check. Small and a large. Forgive my ignarence of the science,but I'm learning quickly. Have new computer coming so I can catch up. I'm old veteran. Not well and concerned my collection Will be over looked if I pass. Need to share around with help of team. My respects always. Navy Mick.

      Thank You for your service Michael. We are the land of the free only because, first, we are the home of the brave. Some meteorites have the Iron metal concentrated into lumps, not evenly distributed in the rock, so some spots will attract the magnet stronger. Also, not all magnets have the same field strength. 'Hope this answers your questions, if not, please reply. Best Regards, Pat

    • @TopherspinMeteorites
      @TopherspinMeteorites  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks for your comment. I can agree that the use of a smaller magnet may be helpful in spotting hi-metal areas in meteorites. It is an idea that I use in my office.

      Thanks to all. I'm a bit lost in the smart tech world but have a new Android phone and have a computer that works. Once I figure out how to connect and or show yous my collection. I've already learned so much more from watching and listening. The green one ,,a Messosidarite I believe..I've got about half dozen of those I think. There a metiorites that is only one to have TWO FALL SITES. THE Russians first found it after it was seen to fall. But the Chiness snuck over boarder and somehow dragged it back into Chiness territory. Were it was listed as there fall and find. I believe the main mass sits outside the new metiorites museam in Kandi China. Please forgive my spelling. It's not correct on location but I do have the details saved. So if right I believe it's one that needs to come to our group. Forgive my slowness but I'm terminal and alone. I sit with my treasures from terrestrial but my extraterrestrial treasures are so much better. My wish is to share and to be honest requop a little return. I've used last five years to beat a lifelong gambling addiction. Since I did my life improved in everyway. But I have enough now and have been told to just ask my Chiness sellers and they will make it available. But cost goes up. For now I've stopped as I don't believe I could improve my collection any more. It's education Tim. And shatei g. Money's a 2 thought. I get a good pension to live with but my two children will need help. I believe my biggest alixtie, (wrong name) but it was one of the metals yous showed on one on one classes. My3 are around 30 pound up to 60. There black buitfull and raliativy fresh. I'm trying to get help from service helpers to learn the computer. If I can send photos another way I'd try. Only way I know know is with a SMS on mobile. But I'm a patriot and live with truth And honesty as my only way in life. I've day with these for so long as can't go anywhere due to illness and the virus. And I live on a mountain in the bush so am pretty isolated. But things are moving and soon we will all hook up. My thanks and RESOECTS TO YOU AND ALL ON SHOW. AND TO ALL COLLECTORS. DREAMS CAN AND DO COME TRUE. RESPECTS TO PAT TO PLEASE. GREAT GREAT MAN. We need to keep him. Ha ha👍😀
