The roots are boiled in water and then sugar is added to make a syrup. It had some amazing health benefits and it also cools down your body.

Sir I had my initial training for my job in Trivandrum...lemonade is awesome there and there north indian food is cooked by Assamese and north east state people..as coconut oil cooked food is bit different in taste for first timers.so most of the north indians who work in IT companies order from these restaurants near Kazhakootam...

What you said about sadhya is very true. I am not a keralite but I never missed my sadhya. In my belief you will true bharatiya khana in states of AP, Telangana,TN,Karnataka and kerala. And most preserved cusines are karnataka and kerala. Kerala vegeterianism is very much untouched and real. The usage of fruits in curries, usage of yougurt, variety of rice,flavoured butter milk,saatvik food...all very healthy In karnataka usage of sprouts, beans etc....is very common

The sweetner that they add in it is a mixture of sugar syrup with the extract of the plant anantmul (aka dudhli in hindi)... It's a medicinal plant and is widely used in making sharbats in Kerala.
Sir you missed Mubarak Meen Kada - It's specialised in fried fish and served with freshly made mango pickle, Cucumber raitha, tapioca and unlimited servings of rice with different varieties of sambar and fish curry.
