  • The access stairs are the strongest currently on the market. Tested at 500 lbs in the middle of the stairs, they are very nice looking and durable. One step can be removed if you want a not so shallow angled staircase. Light weight aluminum treads make it easy enough, just about anyone in the family can handle them.

Thanks a ton! We really like them as well... they are flying off the shelves, as the best stairs system for the job.

I believe the wheel base of this F550 is the longer 208"... so it has a 12' 4-point Zero Torsion sub-frame and a 19' overall cabover... queen size cabover (60"). We also have the cabovers in 72" King size, and a 76" Super King for king sized beds to go in longitudinally.

Does one lock the stairs in place with pins ladder mode stair mode and stow away mode? Or does it lock in place automatically? 🤔

There are spring loaded t-handles that can automatically lock when the locking hole aligns with the locking pin. However, when it is fully extended it locks, and when it is fully stowed, it locks.

Can you walk through, how the 4 point frame works? Have 1 person showing and going through its movements. I dont see how bolting down all 4 points would allow the frame to twist under it.

There are two crossmember pivots front and back that pivot up to 30 degrees laterally (left and right). Just those two pivots allow the Zero Torsion subframe to remain straight and true, with little or no flex. The two side brackets "locate" the subframe to that section of frame rail ONLY. So, if you wanted the habitat to move with the cab, you would want the side brackets up front and the crossmember pivots behind. Why? Because the subframe will pivot depending upon where the side brackets are mounted. In this case, the side brackets were located in front of the rear axel... where ever that part of the frame moves, the subframe now has to follow, because it is attached to it via the side brackets. The four point system is a "diamond" shape on the truck frame. Remember, the crossmembers provide habitat support, but without the side brackets, the subframe would flop left and right.

@@RVGlobeTrekker Im not sure I follow the 4 point 100%.
The fixed side brackets allow the box to tip and rise along the longitudinal axis of the truck right?
The side crossmembers allow for the box to "roll or flop for lack of a better word" move from side to side right?
But then you weld the side gussets to the frame, isnt this stopping and tipping and rising ability?
Is the goal to make the frame so rigid there's no twisting and flexing? Because, when a C channel frame flexes it actually twists the channel some. If you've welded the gusset/crossmember, its not allowing the frame to twist anymore when it flexes.
I think walking through how this works would make a good video. Not just showing it didnt torque but how and why.
