Thank you, my guy! I don't know how many flipping videos I went through trying to get mine to work. Turns out the person that gave it to me broke it. I appreciate the rundown on how the tool actually works
Got the same one for Christmas this year. Going to be using it a lot at work. Used Cornwell, Snap-On and they are pretty much the exact same. Wouldn't be surprised if they all were just made at the same place with different rubber handles for the company logo.
I'm just ordering this tool now and this vid helped me make up my mind. Thanks! I'm guessing the o-ring is to seal off the threads keeping grease in and dirt out when closed up for storage.
I got something similar but less complex at the advanced auto it’s a magentic nut and bolt in the middle with the use of a 3/4 wrench you just adjust the nut and it backs off the bolt causing it to spread open. Was like $12 and works like a charm
This one is rebranded made for the tool truck brands including Napa.Make it for Snap On under the Blue Point brand name.Make it for Mac tools also.I have found one brake pad has to be in place in some applications, one was a 2011 Ford F150 4x4
@@starastronomer yeah, a big disappointment. I tried already with the other tool that uses the old brake pad and you turn the knob (ship steering wheel type), but it’s just too hard. A friend that’s helping went to the store to get a C-clamp and we’re gonna try with that.
humans make a tool for everything, we have a total tool running the united kingdom at the moment called Kier stammer, ill stick to using my bit of soft wood to lever my pistons back its always worked for me, seeing as i only need to use the tool every few years
Hello... We got rid of two tools by the name of Biden & KUM-A-LA and will have President Trump back in Jan. 2025. Time to take back our country with a strong leader. I know what you mean.

Aaron J...looks like Santa was very good to you this Christmas :) You can never have enough tools. I agree, they just change the handle cover.

What is the tool called ?
Looks easier than messing with a big c clamp. I've been doing them all my life with a c clamp
Robert Paulson Indeed, much better!
in the UK we have G clamps...never heard them called C clamps before ?
@@peterscotney1 Yea, but you also call them "chips" instead of "fries" so... ;)
his name is...
yup

Thank you for that information Walter.
They look the same, only differences are the color of the handle and part number.
If you use an old pad you can extend the maximum Spreading distance for larger vehicles.
👌
The O ring is there so you dont tighten the wing to much and jam it. Or lock it up. Same for the nylon ring.
I have the matco one don't remember what I paid for it. Mine has those orings on both sides. This is must have tool for me 👍
It is a nice tool.
Do you prefer the Lang or Lisle type better?
reid smith...if I was only going to get one it would be the Lang.
Lisle
I only paid $45.10 for mine on amazon
I just bought the same tool on eBay for $14, shipping included. Mine has no name on it.
Made of pure Chinesium?
@@troy3456789 If it works who cares.
They need to add Chinesium to the periodic table of elements- works great if not better then steel
All that matter is if it work geezz!!
Hello everybody just got this tool on Amazon no cap works great 👍
Thanks 👍
Sound village- We need a cap?
i wonder how much force it can take
The way it is built I assume it would just stop pushing the piston in if it were seized that bad.
@@starastronomer I actually intended to use it for something else
@@debendragurung3033 what are you trying to do
On Ebay $15.19. Amazon $72? People on TH-cam seem to promote Amazon all the time, but your getting robbed! Ebay baby!
Thanks Aaron...I am just not an Ebay buyer.
@J C Thanks J C. The ratchet design works great. There is a reason for the large price difference.
Good except your hand disturbs the camera view. it's easy to do however.
Will it work on Asian cars and trucks
Not sure.
I couldn’t get it to fit inside the caliper. Anybody else have this problem?
Perhaps your calipers are too small for this tool Kevin.

@@starastronomer No luck. I’m planning on replacing the caliper now. It’ll be alright.
Thanks for the update.
Thanks
