I've played Forza 2, 3, and 4. When I heard what this was about I was excited, but in the back of my mind I didn't think it would be a good idea. I played the demo and bought the game, it's amazing. I don't regret it one bit.
I do. I'm in school for game programming right now, and I've made a few of my own projects in the past, a few of which in XNA (which is compatable with W7, WP7, and Xbox).
Looks good is it going cheep at all, also I hate playing online, for 1 I work alot so find paying for xbox live is a waste and 2 I play games 2 carlm my self from a busy day so would hate some kids voice in my ear shouting away or chatting shit.
One of the best videos about Forza Horizon, I saw in it everything I wanted to know about gameplay in this game. Others reviews are really sux, because there are only scenes from trailers and DEMO from xlive marketplace..
That's exactly why I picked this game up yesterday. It doesn't have the simulation damage that got me into Forza Motorsport, but it certainly makes me smile with how I can drive through the mountains instead of the usual routine when I play other Forza games. I wanted Forza Motorsport 4, but got this instead to take a good break from cranking number crunching cars and records and track simulations. Also, turn off all the HUD markers/info, enjoy the view and uniqueness, it's a beautiful game.
rented this from Gamefly since I'm a Forza fan, but wasn't too sure about the mix of simulation and open world. I've been playing the game for a few days and it's pretty awesome. They definitely managed to pull off combining open world sim with a hint of arcade elements. It's essentially a more stream lined Forza and probably is more welcoming to those who are intimidated by the depth and complexity of Forza 4.
In the main forza series people have been able to tune aspects of their cars to increase performance or customize the car for use on a specific track (tire pressures, gear ratios, suspension etc etc). I never tune myself cause i wouldn't know how so the fact that it isn't in this one doesn't affect me lol.
It's not bad. The fun part of the customization is the vinyl personalization (100% customizable) but other car upgrades don't really show out that well apart some obvious ones like spoilers, rims, tires etc...
The Handling is a bit more forgiving, but its far from arcade (if you have most of the assists turned off). Use the Evo in the Demo, then try it out in Forza 4, it feels -very- similar. If you have most of the assists turned off its still quite possible to oversteer into a turn and hit a guard rail, or end up spinning out down the road. Is it just like Forza 4? No, but its no arcade racer. I can see why no tuning is annoying, but it would be hard to tune a car for "Colorado" compared to a track.
I'm in the same position mate, but it's personal preference. If you are looking for some pick up and play action, go NFS for sure. But if you are looking for something to invest your time into, go with Forza. On the plus side, Forza comes out a week earlier and will also keep you VERY occupied until christmas.
It is, it is so much fun you should definitely get it! It has a GIANT selection of cars especially with the car packs, the only thing i would suggest if if you buy the game, don't buy the rally expansion pack, which is about 1600 ms points, it is the same roads but just dirt, not really worth it unless you have the season pass which it just comes with, All in all its an awesome game and i hope you get it!
I picked this up for $15 on black friday on a whim (or a 'why the hell not') for the 360..glad I did, it's quite fun. I like the open feeling of it....and like being able to go back & fourth between this and Forza 4 depending on what I want (or NTG Inside Line for that matter, I'm a racing fan in general).
How do you get the Yellow with black strip Dodge Viper? I was playing the demo and since i played it something poped up saying that i needed to do something that has a code to unlock the Viper. Also can i get the code any time and use it any time or can i only get it when i get the game because the code is gone by Dec 1. ?

In Canada it's going for 59.99 dollars. As for HDD space, my HDD went from 302GB to 294-296GB. I am not sure the exact numbers as I downloaded free DLC cars after installing it. It's around 6-8GB
So, I got Forza Horizon (I've had Forza 3 for years anyway) and I have not regretted it. It is amazing! I'm looking forward to Forza 5 and I'll most likely be getting Forza 4. I forgot how much fun this series is!
I wonder if they changed the aspect where if you restart an event the song your listening to restarts aswell, it especially gets annoy on races that last 2 1/2 mins or lower.

The Viper you get for playing the demo will have expired by now, but you can still buy a yellow Viper with black stripes at any time you want. It's nothing special or anything, it's just a colour. The one you get for playing the demo had a unique design on it.

its the radio station that linked it to me. How the announcer promoted the event is similar to how they talked about the racing in paradise as well as the flashy menus and all that. The vibe reminded me of the game, but without the carnage. Thats just me though. This game just seems safe to me, which is the opposite of what u want from an open world game.
its actually a VERY fun game... theres something about modding a supercar and heading out to the strip of highway in the game and street racing between traffic... its just really addictive. and the Forza physics in this style of game makes it so much better
I love this game, I just wish they had some more performance parts for each category but they have the usual amount that NFS has. The music and scenery when driving makes this game amazing.
it's a lot similar to what DiRT did with DiRT Showdown, it's nothing like the other DiRT's, they're about precision and rally driving, it was just a bit of fun
this is the same exact problem, with nfs they havent been very great at all up untill this one that really seems nice and then you got forza also changing things up, with what seems to be for the better this time around lol thanks man !! your guidence cleared the wayy!! lol :)
If Forza 4 had a day/night cycle it would be locked at a solid 30fps too, which is the norm for consoles anyways. The handling is supposed to be similiar/identical to F4 with assists off. Have you tried the demo?
I'm enjoying Horizon at the moment especially since I've always liked open world games. It's fair to say it doesn't stack up against Forza 4 in term's of physics and tuning. But I think Horizon should be recognized more for its Arcade element rather than a simulator. If you think of it like that, Horizon's one of the best arcade/sandbox driving games I reckon! Its basically a detailed Midnight Club. Definitely recommend Horizon for Forza players who just want to drift for fun day or night.
Dude the map is massive lots of places to drive and the landscape is a amazing. It takes a while to get across even if your booking it in a Lamborghini Aventador. Forza Horizon made my summer better haha

Absolutely! Turn 10 needs to bring the Forza franchise to PC for a few reasons: 1. Better wheel support for PC. 2. Triple screen support is easier on PC. 3. Graphics would be leagues better on PC. Still though, the graphics are very impressive on X360.

I didn't know if I wanted this game or not. When I bought Forza 4 it was OK, but after a rather short while it got boring, and I stopped playing. I did however decide to give Forza Horizon a shot. I have not once regretted this, The game is awesome. Great driving mechanics, lots to do, great variety in challenges, great collection of cars and great freedom of choice. You can choose to complete the main game quickly, or you can take your time, cruise around and have fun, just like in GTA-games.
To me this feels like how Need For Speed Pro Street should have been. The Need for Speed series is just a joke now, I'm more of a street racing fan than a racing sim fan so I've completely overlooked Forza but everyone was bumming this game so I thought I'd check it out, glad I did as it's now on my list, lol. Currently playing Midnight Club LA, glad I've finally branched out of the NFS series as I'm finding games made by other developers that feel more like NFS Underground sequels.
I personally love forza horizon. The graphics are great and the gameplay can be adjusted to your personal driving level. I use the game to do a lot of videos. If you want a tuning ability though then I would go with forza 4.

I don't agree with the negativity thrown at this game. I brought it the other day, and am now up to my blue wristband. The setting is actually quite thrilling (especially the Nevada desert setting) and the cars handle pretty much like they do in Forza 4 (very smooth and highly responsive & prone to sliding on gravel.) Its MUCH more realistic than Need for Speed, and it may contain less cars - but there is more than enough favorites here to keep people busy! Go play it, if not - wait for Forza 5!
its a small thing..but did anyone notice there driver at 1:33 is wearing a helmet, is this a regional thing.. in the demo i played he dosnt have one :)
depends forza4 is plain select map race... it has more cars but in forza horizon u free roam and a story is thrown in... both are very fun ive played all forza games so if u want more of a laid back time i suggest horizon... any questions or anything i can answer for you :)

I've had an insane weekend at work and I picked this up yesterday morning and already I've spent 11 hours on it. :) I love it.
That's exactly why I picked this game up yesterday. I live in Colorado and it really looks like this, no radio stations like it but a lot of nice cara on the interstates.

It's Forza's first attempt at the open road experience. They did a pretty dang good job of incorporating the new feature into the game play.

I think they kept multiplayer on hold for a sequel. The forza franchise has a habbit of doing that. Keeps it feeling fresh every time
