Heads up for anyone watching the kunanyi / Mount Wellington segment (7:18). Drones are not permitted without a permit from the Wellington Park Management Trust. The same rule applies in all National Parks and other reserves managed by the Tasmania Parks and Wildlife Service.
Honestly, you'll get a great experience in both cruises. Whichever best fits your itinerary is the way to go. If you plan on being at both Tasman National Park and Bruny Island, then Bruny could be a good way to go for a wilder experience. There's a lot to do on foot around Port Arthur and the 3 hours you spend on a boat could be better spent seeing more. If you're only going to one of the two locations, personally, I'd choose Bruny. End the day with Get Shucked for oysters, Bruny Island Cheese, and The Neck lookout too. Should be brilliant.
And of course the gorgeous historic town of Richmond which isn’t too far from Hobart Airport. The oldest bridge in Australia. An old convict town. You could go there on the way in or out. It’s so quaint.
Cheers boys, moving to Taz for work in 2026 and now i know somewhere in hobart i can grab and after drinks kebab 😂 seriosuly tho so much info in this video. Well done
Appreciate you watching through! Feel free to reach out via email before the move if you have any questions - more than happy to help! We'll also have more Hobart content uploaded between now and then so check back occasionally for that! Recently found another Kebab location near Hobart in Blackmans bay called Kebab Station. A little drive from Hobart but worth it!
@TasmaniaUnearthed fantastic bud ill check these out. Can't wait to try some scallops, heard Taz has the best in the world. I'll glady give you guys an email with any questions I have. Respect bro 🙏
Mt Wellington is awesome. I understand it is officially called kunanyi, now much like the old school Mt Ayres is called Uluru. I'm a person who prefers cooler temperatures to warmer and is happy with the wind but your preferences will make a significant difference. It's a bit of a stereotypical tourist place, but I think it is for as good reason. Awesome views in semi-decent weather and just an adventure, otherwise.
Hobart is a very safe city for solo travel. You won't have any problems at all. Could you email us at hello@tasmaniaunearthed.com.au with what you're currently planning on doing in Hobart, how long you'd like to stay and we can provide some recommendations for you? We'll post them here later for others who might appreciate them also!
Absolutely! We have both lived in Tassie for all our lives and are both well travelled across the state, and across tourism as well - we would not recommend anywhere we don't think is worth checking out!
Great video. Really helpful. Looking forward to visiting this weekend
Glad it was helpful! We hope you have a great weekend!
Some solid advice 👊
Thank you Bappy!
Go go Tassie 🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
🙌🙌
Great to know, thanks to you both.
Our pleasure! Thanks so much for watching!

Correct. Appreciate the clarification around this!
@gnomevoyeur you're right it is officially kunanyi / Mount Welllington, not just Mt Welllington.
Bruny Island or Tasman Island ? Which one do you recommend ?

Great video!!!! 🏆
Thank you Kate! Hope you found something helpful from it!
Interesting ideas, I'd love to visit these places as I settle - I've recently immigrated to Hobart from Cape Town 🇿🇦
Absolutely @JCdevoss! We hope the move has gone well!

Definitely! Richmond is worth a full video by itself. Appreciate the recommendation!

It’s officially dual-named.
Hello, i plan to go solo travel to hobart, is it safe? And could you recommend nice cheap airbnb and resto, coz I'm a (very) budget traveler 😅

@@TasmaniaUnearthed thank you 🙌
Isnt the ferry to Bruny Island free for people without a vehicle?
Correct! There's no charge for walk-on customers with the Bruny Island ferry.
Bruny Island is deceptively large. Depending on your itinerary, it's worth a second day to stop and appreciate all the stops.
Too true. You could spend a full weekend just on Bruny and still not cover everything, let alone all of Hobart!
And the Tasmanian Museum and Art Gallery
Also a great spot to go and visit!
what about cheap places to stay and eat for those how are on a budget
Absolutely! We've got one planned for the future! Thanks so much for the suggestion.
You think" have you people have actually been to the places you are trouting off about?
