That nanny who stabbed those two poor children, how horrific, absolutely disgusting. The fact that she stuck around to see the parent's reaction. My grandma was a nanny, my mother was a nanny, it just boils my blood. I can not even begin to imagine the pain those parents feel.

I feel like that the court system fails a lot of people. When someone commits a horrific crime it’s because they’re “mentally unstable” or “plea of insanity”. Not saying that some of them aren’t but the nanny’s composure …that’s not insanity that’s a true sociopath. Sometimes you can tell where they’re smart enough to know before they commit the crime that there’s a possibility to plea for insanity and that way they can get away with it. It’s so fucked up.

That sucks. I'm guessing the disabled child & sick husband went a long way to mitigating factors for such a lenient sentence. And of course, the max sentences can only do so much too. I imagine if something had actually happened to any of the family members she would have been in jail. I'm just relieved that the worst didn't happen. How can she sit and say she never considered that someone might follow up on the things she posted inviting someone to literally come and do that? I doubt anyone who watched that report wasn't sitting there thinking "Oh shit" when that came up inviting strange men to "surprise her". I really hope she was also mandated psych treatment too tho, because she has some serious bullshit going on in her brain...over a house!
I feel so bad for that family, it must have been awful living through being terrified in your own home. I wonder if they could/did sue for financial damages because that fear will cause ptsd that will stay with them.

That has to be the most docile, kindest, most mild mannered "hitman" I have ever seen. He was a homeless father of 10, that did petty crimes to either get money or items to sell for money, or because when you are homeless, on those cold months, being in Jail or prison is one of the best ways to keep warm, get a meal, and just have some security for a time.
I do like how Boze walked away from the video right as he explained he took the job, not because he wanted to, he wanted the money, but because he knew if he didn't, he might go to someone else. So he planned to most likely betray them and turn them in later, but i am sure he struggled with the idea of do you take the money or not, knowing that money was for the murder of a family, making it feel "dirty" to accept.

It's not cliché for her to say that about children, it's true! I HAD SUCH A SIMILAR REACTION! 'Why I became a sexual health Social Worker' was summed up perfectly when she said "and you can't even know what damages you've done, for _'sexual gratification.'"_ Because we know children are experiencing sexual abuse, and we have to do everything possible to prevent it in the future and help them survive the present. "Sexual gratification" is not an excuse to ruin anyone's life. These stories need to be brought into the light and children deserve nothing less than a safe environment to grow up in.

@@aurizzisticthe fact she showed zero remorse has me more on the side of her not being able to be rehabilitated. She does not care what she did and minimised the entire time, she abused her position of power through her work, to do what she did. It took considerable research and planning, some of which was conducted in person. I can understand that rehabilitating people needs to be a priority in a lot of cases, but as much as I believe that, I do think there are a few where that option isn’t there. There is no indication that she did this other than for her own gain. People do ridiculous things when psychologically compromised, and though I don’t really in my personal opinion think that was a factor here at all, I simply think she was selfish, there are some symptoms of mental illness and actions undertaken as a result which cannot at this stage be solved yet, and rehabilitation isn’t an option, or the crime is that great that it shouldn’t be an option because it allows the continuation of a get out of jail free card for those who aren’t that way impacted so they continue to participate in problematic behaviours. Some people are plain and simple, entitled AHs.

We want a fun, loving, hopeful community and children are naturally the heart of that. It's an adult and guardian's responsibility to think of the long term as well as the short term for their children, so when that is sabotaged especially by another adult, the point of influence needs to be reiterated.
Kids are kids and adults are adults, these boundaries are for our moral and social betterment. (Physically, Emotionally, Sexually, Spiritually the list goes on.)
Adults should not ever seek to harm children (or other adults), and children should never fear harm from adults (or other children). This is obviously an idealized statement that few can understand/follow/get etc.

The Kathy Rowe story hit home for me, I had a guy harrass me for years after i said i was no longer interested. We had gone on only 2 dates and he posted my number and name on reddit pretending to be me. He asked men to call me about their rape fantasies.....I am a survivor or kidnapping and rape. I had 7+ calls within hours of it being posted and was completely confused why. Thank God a few of the guys who called listened to me and were immediately apologized because I was confused and immediately rejecting what they said. She was sentenced to life in prison in 2018; I heard about it on Wacky Wednesday a few years before (it’s a clickbait channel now, but at the time I watched it, it wasn’t).
All that said, that straight stare is indicative of sociopathy!
Also, update on Kathy Rowe, the one who wanted the Rices out of her dream home. She passed away in 2021, and her husband five years before. Her daughter has achieved so much and is doing great now. The film Aftermath borrows from the family’s story.
Deonte Taylor has also been sentenced to 50 years in prison for his crimes. 15 for 3 sexual assault-related counts, and 5 for exposing children to HIV since he’s tested positive for the virus.

Notice she was deflecting as if she was not the one who did it. It appeared that this was some kind of stress relief or escapism from her mundane existence. I would think the family could sue her civily but I don't think she has any money, which is why she did not get the house.

I had a stalker in high school who would constantly break into our house and they would steal small things from me and leave me notes around my room. They really liked leaving notes in my underwear drawer and under my pillow.
We changed our locks, got new doors, but it didnt matter, they kept breaking in until they just suddenly stopped. They broke into our house and stole a couple of my dads guns and left a freezer ziplock bag that had a VERY mutilated chicken in it and they said it was my aborted fetus (never had an abortion) and idk why but that was their last visit.

A 70 year old molesting a four year old and another child on top of that, is going to make me cry. I was also four when I was sexually assaulted. Age four compared to how long my family lives, is one 25th. I was a baby compared to my lifespan. Four. I was just four. And so that was that kid. Age four? We’re just getting into preschool. You are a better soul than I will ever manage to be. Not that I would want to hurt a child. (Duct tape to a chair? The thought when I was a nanny occasionally flitted thru my mind - but I was caring for 5 under 5 with 2 sets of twins. The fact I didn't pull out all my OWN hair is astonishing! lol. But HARM? That has got to be the sign of actual insanity and evil.) But consider killing someone BECAUSE they hurt a kid? The only reason I'm not in prison for one situation was I was actually HANDED the baby and knew my actual job was to book out and get her to safety. If that hadn't been the case, someone was gonna die that day and I'm honest enough to admit it wouldn't have been a clean quick kill either. I don't think I have ever felt so.... possessed. Full on demon of fury ripping thru with me practically just stuck in the passenger seat watching my own insanity. Which is a rather dark place to have to accept lives in you if you find it lurking about in the back of your soul but one I know I have to fight down. Finding it NOT in your soul does make you a rather special breed. Hold on to that, okay? If this sounds off (or like I'm being snarky) I swear it's internet missed tone, not me being sarcastic. The way you describe it is actually super foreign to me, and it honestly sounds like a terrifying experience. Any intense emotion like that would cause me to shut down completely. Last one. Last one gave me chills. I went so close being SAd when I was 5-7, he was an old man, a friend from my father's hunting club, he took an interest in me and... Well basially started to court me with gifts. He took on what I showed I liked (I'm neurodivergent, I was over EVERYTHING, especially animal facts). My parents didn't get on at first, he was a misoginistic old man, he was flirty with adult women, annoying but ultimately, what could an old man do ? The courting continued, he came to the house expressedly to see me (I was fucking 6) and they grew suspicious and thank the gods they told me to never go with him alone, because he did try to kidnapp me, he asked me to come to his house see the wooden cabin in his garden. I wanted to, damn sounded like a lot of fun, always wondered what was in that cabin for him to show it to me, but I never went because my parents told me not to, I told him so, and he stopped. The moment he knew my parents were suspicious he backed off. Then he got a moment where we were alone, inattention fom my mother since that was around a year after, he confessed to me what he'd do if I did come IN THAT FUKING CABIN. Let's say, I didn't understand anything aside from the alarms that ran off in my head, that what he was saying was insanely weird, but I was just paralyzed. Then two boys came by with bicycles, just passing by and they witnessed it, and you what I felt ? Guilt and disgust toward myself. They shouldn't have heard that. I couldn't understand what was happening but I knew it was wrong nd I felt GUILTY. Ran to mother, cried while explaining, trying to express that I was seen because it was what I though the shame wame from. My parents just went balistic and damn I'm just lucky to have such loving parents. They didn't press charges, but they threatened him of killing him if he ever was seen again. Got truly SAd at 14 randomly at the swimming pool tho, pinched then touched in inadequate places suddendly by a guy making a show for his friends, punched him (hope I broke his nose), he slapped me, I ran away through the crowd to hide away in the pool feeling ashamed. Not just angry, I was disgusted, sick, and ashamed of my own body for.. Just appealing to people like that, for them to be able to take what them want and liking every second of abuse they throw at people, at me. They deserve hell. They all do.

When my father was originally sentenced he was given 20 years. Then an appeal happened and he was given 10 instead. He served 7. He's currently awaiting trail for reoffending.
I really hope that 22 year sentence sticks

When my cousin was sentenced for my 2 year, nearly every day r*pe, he got 5 to 25 years. He served 6, all of which he spent trying to appeal, I got life and still deal with the fallout of what he did. It's absolutely outrageous how cheaply these monsters get off in our society. Catch and release, right back into the stream to hurt someone else. That judge was amazing

Honestly, hearing these judges' words was incredibly cathartic to me

As someone that was assaulted by a family member when I was a kid and knowing even then they wouldn’t get much time or anything, that last case is music to my ears, personally any sort of serial offender or rapist should get life in prison or the death penalty, but 22 years is better than most sentences I’ve seen
Sidenote: as someone with adhd I love doing a speedrun of cases

This is exactly why we have “order in the court” so the judge can have no distractions or be put in emotional situations. Like rightfully so … but that’s why you shut up

thank you for the link at 32:16, found out that there are 9 registered offenders in my small town of less than 3,600 people. And I've walked by some of their houses! Even though now I'm a lot more scared, I'm glad I actually know the address, names, and ages of the most disgusting people to walk this planet! 👍

"Mitch McConnell lookin' ass" defused the mental rage I was feeling on that last one. 😅I was HT at a preschool for 14 years, and while I recognize that this not prerequisite to being pissed about child abuse, it certainly makes it feel closer to home. As a man who absolutely adores children, there's a stigma there. Forget the years studying developmental psychology, early childhood development (let me stop writing my resume), it's men like this who even give ME pause about men working with young children. More than anything I can say about that POS, I want those two little girls and their families to access the resources they need, and I want them to recover and thrive after this.
(Sorry. It was either type on my laptop or throw it, and I can't afford a new one.)

you do realize women sexually abuse children too…happens more than what people want to admit.

@@MW-mh7pm Absolutely! I ramble, so maybe my point was lost in the noise. My intention was to relate my personal experience as a man with a long term career working with young children, which might create prejudice many people assume I’m “creepy” or whatever by default. Seeing this case triggers a lot of the insecurities that come along with that. Got me?

@@michaelneedssleep i definitely see that often. it’s honestly pretty disheartening because i know many men go into this profession with good intentions.

@@michaelneedssleep meanwhile women (and men, but women are more likely to get away with it & less stigma with them) who are legit predators are awarded leniency and no discrimination.
