2008 Washougal Toyota Motocross Lites (250cc) Championship (Round 9 of 12)

This is round 9 of the 2008 Toyota Trucks Motocross Lites (250cc) Championship presented by FMF from Washougal Motocross Park in Washougal, WA.
Returning contenders like Austin Stroupe, West SX Lites champ Jason Lawrence, Ryan Dungey, Josh Grant, East SX Lites champ Trey Canard, Nico Izzi, Brett Metcalfe, 2002 co-runner-up Branden Jesseman, and two-time defending champ Ryan Villopoto battle it out for the 2008 Toyota Trucks Motocross Lites (250cc) Championship presented by FMF. This is Ryan Villopoto's 3rd and final year in the Motocross Lites class. Ryan Dungey wins moto #2 and breaks Ryan Villopoto's 7-race win streak and 16-moto win streak, which doubles as Dungey's first moto and overall win of the season.

That’s for the first motocross national race DUNGEY won, it set off a several year fire storm

No disagreements there. That did a lot for Dungey as that was the first of 3 overall wins in the final 4 races of the 2008 season, and solidified him as a title contender for 2009 year. It paid off as he won the Supercross Lites West title, and beat out Christophe Pourcel for the Motocross title.
