It was worth the dropping the quarter in the slot just watching this thing work. The jukebox is a work of art. What a mechanical marvel. Thanks for sharing.
My very first record, bought in '56, I was 11. I still have it. It's on display in my living room in a RCA Victor 78 rpm record holder, made of bakelight (early plastic).
Looks like one I sold a few (quite a few actually) years back. Animation, green background, cream colored deck, reproduction decal.. Wouldn't be surprised if that was it. That's one I shouldn't have sold! If it was mine it was originally set up to play 45's and I converted it back. It had plastic buttons in the trays to hold the 45's centered and I had to add a plastic overlay to the motor spindle to bring it up to speed. I fine tuned it by sanding down a bit while it ran.
It's playing slightly slow to avoid copyright infringement on youtube:) Otherwise It'd get taken down, unless the person who put it up holds all the publishing and copyrights to this song
@wurlitzergroup Hi, yes, pilasters are animated as is the small light on top (very tough to do this) and backlighting. It has a great sound! Thanks for your comment, I've seen your videos before and they are very informative.
Wow - I am restoring a Super rocket - Yours looks very nice - and it's always nice to see these jukes still on coin play - is that animation I see in those pilasters? *jimmy in MD
Het there i have this juke box in my lounge!! had it bloody years!! very rare model!! plays 45rpm or 78rpm!! lovely looking machine and good sound!! mine is set up for 45rpm!! but i still have the original 78rpm cartridge and bits n bobs !! infack i got in storage a complette mech 4 spare for it!! Your badge on the front dome is wrong one as it s for the rock ola rocket and not the super rocket!! i have the right transer here spare one here bud!! contact me if youd be interested??
@greenwichlirr Good ear! You're right, the "A" sides are slighly slower, and the "B" sides are slighly faster...don't know how to remedy this short of a new motor. Thanks for the comment.
The motor may just need cleaned and oiled. However, it's probably easier said than done in this situation. Just a tad slow but it was still really cool.
Yes, you're right, the "A" sides play somewhat slow, but the "B" sides play faster, as this machine has a reversible motor. Don't know what else I can do except change the motor...all suggestions are welcomed!
+seywhut2985 A little cleaning of the old bearings, some nice Lubriplate 105 - she'll sing another 75 years or so - probably longer!! Beautiful machine!! Need any title strips?? I have them by the dozens. I can also make them as well, if a strip is obsolete. Let me know if you could use them.
78s have a good sound quality because of the width of the groove and higher speed. Shellac is not a good vinyl material? Vinyl is a plastic, surely you mean record. I don't see a problem with shellac. It lasts forever.
This is the record that made me want to play guitar.
Smoothancool No it didn’t

Love the vintage sound the jukebox gives off, especially how it’s slowed down. Somewhat more of a heavy sound.
Thank you, working on a
Wurlitzer 1100 right now.

Wow! very nice. Would love to this machine play the other side of the record. I see the needle on the top of the tonearm. Very cool.
its playing to slow.the motor should have a speed adjustment

Not at the moment but I have had LOLLIPOP and TEENAGE GOODNIGHT on there as I have many of their 78's.

Great song, thumbs up. But why it plays so slow?
@harristeeter1 check the voltage to the motor, voltage controls the speed of an electric motor assuming it has enough amps

I was hoping you would download a video playing the other side of a record.
When they were lit up they were very pretty. Not so much turned off. LOL. Time to get in there and tear down the motor and clean and oil the bearings.
You are so right!

@@keithm5224 yeah but it breaks far to easy, you can break it if you look at it wrong
Just wondering what kind of cartridge you're using in the tone arm. Is it a ceramic (Astatic?) or did you convert to a magnetic type?
