    Mam ..in some articles they raise the flap in 2 steps...ie., first split thickness flap and then full thickness...why is that?

      Flap design based on thickness depends on the biotype of gingiva. So if its thin biotype, full thickness and if its thick, split thickness can be attempted. Main motive behind this is preservation of remaining tissue and minimize post surgery healing period.
