First off, I think this can be really good for some inmates because it teaches them humility and will give them something to focus on while in jail. Second, I love this entry into arm bars and rear triangle chokes. This has been a great channel for new moves for me. (over 19 years in BJJ), TY
what a coincidence. I watched a Craig Jones video demonstrating the stockade, but for the life of me i could not remember what the name of the move was. Thank you for reminding me!
I didn’t know Craig had a video on this position. Is it a “paid for” video? This is actually a variation of a Catch wrestling move also known as “Sugarhold, Pirates Crucifix or Reverse half Nelson.
Some excellent exampes of ubiquitous concepts. You can't move something holding your body weight. If you want to move a body part, you must make it light.
wow I watched Craig Jones tide vid while ago, he did not go into such a depth at all. this has been my top game for a while however I only use this as pinning. Awesome. Thank you
I like these ideas. I have been using running man and Hawking for quite a while. Normally, I can stop my partrer's attack by going there. I am glad to see ways to crack the code so that I can stay ahead of the curve. I would like see more about getting under that top arm, which for me, is the prime directive.
“Getting under the top arm….” I learned from Chris Paines that attacking the HANDS (not any part of the arms) is a good tool to use to start to open the opponents elbows. If you like the either defensive position, I hope to teach a class called “The Reverse Russian Tie” in #BjjGlobetrotters Camp Maine 2025! It is a move I have been using to change Priit’s Hawking Position from Defensive; Back to an offensive nature. It has been working with great success. Someday I hope Priit will adopt me and endorse The Reverse Russian Tie. It works. 💪🏼
Ive had a lot of success using this after the camp. Thank you!

Awesome instruction Kirk! You're the man!

Probably my favorite seminar of the whole camp
Glad you enjoyed it.
@@kirkphillips4077 I had never heard of a stockade before you showed it. Really effective move though!

Except that's a terrible example of Running Man. I'm not saying there isn't a lot of value to be had.
I never went to running man. He was just saying that I use it when sparring.
@@KodiakCombat, You are right. The moves are just similar in that you oddly face away from your opponent. That was what I was trying to suggest.
