(None other than Bronislaw Huberman said that rhythm was the most important factor in musical expression. Frans Bruggen said the same thing. So we have Intonation, Sound, and Rhythm. With my beginning students (I only teach beginners), I sometimes have them play scales three beats to the measure while I play four beats to the measure. Then we exchange. It forces them to focus on the beat. It is tough at first, but then it becomes second nature. When it gets "easy," we start playing with the tempo, increasing and decreasing the speed at random points. It eventually leads to a sense of "control" over the rhythm.)

Thank you for your very useful tips! Sometimes I try to imagine that the notes on the metronome beats "create" the metronome clicks. This helps to anticipate the movements that prepare the note to be played on the click instead of lagging behind.

I do notice that the first time it was cut into 1/3 and the last time it seems to cut into 1/4? Not sure if I got it right
