I’ve never seen Dennis so calm and collected, ever. He wasn’t fist pumping every single point, just the big ones. He looked so mature out there. It was great to see. He has it in him. He just needs the time and maturity.
Time? He's had 7 years, and hasn't really made any progress. In fact, I'd say he played better there than he does now. At least he only fist pumped on the big points in this match...😅
Truly a wasted talent... His game is so beautiful to watch especially his one hander but never achieved anything significant except playing a close 3 setter in semis of Wimbledon against novak which could have gone either way
What even is talent at the end of the day? So Shapo makes a masters Semi at 17 and is mediocre from them on but he is still talented cuz of that one semi back in 2017? This new field of Rune Sinner and Alvarez are all younger and have already achieved more than him. He is not good enough to win some matches outside the top 20 let alone in it. But yh he wins the title of being 'talented'
Démolition by Dennis - Kyrgios ko'd, wow. Violent poetry in motion. When Shapo's on his game, ain't nobody gettin' up from the canvas. Dennis needs to teleport that 17-year-old chill to 2024.
No it's because Shapos game was fire at 17. Sadly his mental development never happened whereas Alcaraz mentally was in very good coaching hands to build the champion mindset. Alcaraz game is technically very solid and complete, Shapos is flashy but inconsistent and high risk. Also high ball toss, inability to quickly adapt court positioning, absorbing pressure all these small details are the big difference. So there is a major gap between them. If both were at 17, Shapo would beat Alcaraz in best of 3 possibly because of his firepower, but 3 years later he has little chance because rate of growth and development.
Anyone watching this match knows Krygios wasn't trying at all. If he played even 50% of his level, he would've won in straight sets. Shap did nothing spectacular.
Tennis betd are not in this level cause the prizes money are great at Masters, gs atp500 and Even 250, it's from Challengers, fitires, itf, etc we're the bet problem happens, it's for players that are struggling financially cause their ranks are not that hogh and they rarely plays Big tournaments, and ofc those matches have less coverage so it's easier to pass. Si no, kyrgios tbking or not taking seriously this Match has anything to do with betting, cause it would not make any sense with the money he already was winning to risk a Big suspensión fue to fixing matches...
I know you are speculating but it's very dangerous and serious to accuse someone of betting in tennis days especially without any concrete data or facts. He could be anxious, under pressure, injured, sad, suicidal, not motivated, whatever and none of it is related to betting.
Thats why You don't get assumptions of early bloomers cause not everyone became great champions, both players in this Match are a clear examplw of that
There were such high hopes for Denis… he hit the ceiling around ATP15, qtrs in semis, so so technique and not enough of a good mover to defend, so his tactical options are limited… a poor man’s Tsitsipas

Kyrios with 18 double faults gave that entire match to Dennis. It’s crazy Nick even won that second set with his serve being so horrendous that night.

At 17 he was playing better tennis than alcaraz at 17 i think its because shapo physically matured early but alcaraz got matured around 19..
