Beloved Brothers and Sisters in Christ,
Christ is risen!
Χριστός Ανέστη!
Each individual and family should cultivate within itself the appreciation of our God’s love for us and all things that He has done for us. A God enlightened pursuit of knowledge gives birth to stronger faith, which strengthens our heart and our mind to the works of faith, which leads to sanctification and illumination.
On Saturday, June 8, 2024 at 3 PM at the Saint Nektarios Cathedral we will show a documentary film titled: “The Privileged Planet.” This Saturday is also the day before the Metropolis Picnic, which will be held at Adams Street Park in Ajax after the Liturgy on Sunday, June 9, 2024. Please see the attached flyer for more details.
“The Privileged Planet" documentary film provides scientific evidence that the earth is particularly located in the solar system and galaxy with a vast array of finely tuned balances of many opposing forces that makes it uniquely fit to support life and more than that, give us the best view of the universe. For those who have eyes to see, the scientific observations revealed in the film demonstrates in many ways the wonderful providence of God for us.
After the documentary there will be a discussion of the scientific evidence of God’s love and providence for us and how the Holy Fathers teach that the purpose of creation is the salvation and sanctification of the sons and daughters of Adam and Eve. Our God created all things from nothing and when the material creation occurred, time began. Our Lord Jesus Christ, Who is timeless and beyond time, entered time and became the God-Man, so that we might be saved.
