That was beautifully done . And it was an unusual thing, an elephant! I have never seen one being carved before I watched your video. Thank you and best wishes
Only a very talented person can look at a picture on a phone and carve it in a piece of wood. As always, I always look forward to friday mornings so I can watch Random Acts.
You can carve other barks but they are usually not as thick or as dense so they would probably flake apart. Cottonwood bark from the northwest can get several inches thick and holds detail very well
Mark first video of yours I’ve seen, and you do nice detail work. The trunk seems to have a crack in it so do you try a glue job to strengthen it up? The finished carve looks very well done
Nice! Always good work.
Love watching always learn new tips
Another imaginative work of art. Love it!

@@rickmeisch643 thanks for the compliment, the trunk wasn't week, that was just the texture of the bark. So no gluing necessary.
You’ve been asked before ,I’m sure, what brand of grinder are you using?
Hi Randy, in this video I was using a micromotor called, Strong 202. I've had it a couple years and it is my favorite for small stuff.
Thanks for getting back to me.
