@@MagickinMusick was meditating on this right after listening to the Regardie tapes actually. Fond childhood memories I have, mostly of playing outdoors and getting in trouble, but still good ones nonetheless!

@@alteregoAtlas Regardie tapes! Haven't thought of those times is perhaps 35 years. First got them through New Falcon and they helped me in my time at the Thelemic Order of the G.D. and pursuits afterwards. Thank you for bringing back these memories! I'll have to see if I can find digital copies of those G.D. Regardie tapes again.
@@paul479 That's a pretty open ended question, but I'll try and answer. The GD improved my understanding of the Western Tradition and to some degree, myself. You get out what you put in and any improvement of one's life has its origins inside you. However, such traditions do act as excellent guides. In today's world, if you are interested in the GD, I would recommend the "Complete Golden Dawn System of Magic" as a start and work from that. Outside of that, the writings by Crowley on the A.A. are excellent. As for perhaps Thelema in the religious and fraternal aspect, look to the O.T.O. For modern initiation and growth, the Temple of Set. I hope your journey is fruitful.

O HOLY Guardian Angel, my dear friend and solicitous guide on the dangerous way of life, to thee be heartfelt thanks for the numberless benefits which have been granted me through thy love and goodness and for the powerful help by which thou hast preserved me from so many dangers and temptations. I beg of thee, let me further experience thy love and thy care. Avert from me all danger, increase in me horror for sin and love for all that is good. Be a counselor and consoler to me in all the affairs of my life, and when my life draws to a close, conduct my soul through the valley of death into the kingdom of eternal peace, so that in eternity we may together praise God and rejoice in His glory.
