    When I first watched this video a few weeks ago I thought everything was so crazy. After a couple weeks of rope /mechanical device research, I finally get what’s going on
    Thanks for the vid 🤙🏽

    My understanding is that a residential trim is only trimming below 9 to 3 orientation. Anything above that would be a commercial trim or hurricane trim.

    • @mr.benitezhimself
      @mr.benitezhimself  5 ปีที่แล้ว +7

      Commercial/hurricane trim (3-4 palm fronds, 11-1, or even 10-3)
      Residential trim ( 6-7 palm fronds, 9-3)
      But if I see any brown on top of the palm fronds, or if the palm frond is hanging too low, I make the decision to cut it off

      john Hildebrand here in Las Vegas, I barely get to trim trees other than palms. Maybe 10% and when I do, I don’t use spikes because I can feel me hurting the poor tree..
      So I just srt to get to the canopy. 🌴🌴🌴

    SPiking llive trees and trimming above 3 and 9 o'clock is tree abuse. Good job

    • @mr.benitezhimself
      @mr.benitezhimself  5 ปีที่แล้ว +9

      I climb palm trees with spikes
      When it comes to pruning other trees, I don’t use spikes
      If a client pays me to leave ONE palm fronds up there, I’ll do it. I let them know, they will grow twice as fast.
      Also, learned this year that it’s not necessarily hurting the tree because a “hurricane” trim is actually better for palms that go thru rain/wind storms
      Thanks for watching

    • @mr.benitezhimself
      @mr.benitezhimself  5 ปีที่แล้ว +11

      Bo Hansen I understand where you’re coming from, these trees will live far longer than you, even with me climbing them. I don’t lose sleep over minuscule things. Like I said, if they client doesn’t want me climbing them with spikes, that fine. Let’s do SRT, but the majority of people can’t afford $300.00 a tree (just for a trim)
      Thanks for your tips, I’m still going to do it this way and if the money is right, I’m doing as the client wishes.
      Dirty hands but clean money
      Watch more of my videos and criticize them as well
      Love learning everyday
      Thanks
