    When Persian people are talking about Europe and European countries, they are specifically talking about Western Europe which tends to be liberal

    • @BenjaminGessel
      @BenjaminGessel หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Yeah, but Western Europe shouldn’t be so “liberal”. The very definition of a conservative (from an Anglo-American point of view, as I am an Anglo-American), is someone who wants to conserve traditional culture. In our upbringing, that traditional culture that comes to mind the quickest is the OLD culture of Britain, Germany, Denmark, France, Netherlands, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland, Austria, Belgium, etc. BEFORE the hippy era, etc.
      And, of course, the way that, to a large extent, Anglo-American culture was before the 1960’s, etc.
      Of course, in much of the USA, you still have that older culture going strong. I would guess the same is true for various European nations. Without that older culture, the culture of a nation would be FUNDAMENTALLY CHANGED.
      That’s not exactly a good thing, depending on what that culture was actually like, what it gave to the world, etc.

    We Hungarians have quite a lot of underrated and ancient connections with the Iranian peoples
    Before the Turkic influences, the Proto-Ugric peoples received their first major external cultural influence as well as their linguistic and genetic heritage from the first Indo-Iranian peoples, the later Scythians, Sarmatians and Alans
    The first element of the 'Magyar' & 'Mansi' name "*mańć" is possibly derived from the Indo-Iranian word "mánu"
    The Sassanids built "Majar" and "Ulu-Majar" fortresses around the East Caucasus (modern day Azerbaijan)
    Along with the Cumans, we also accepted the Iranian Jasz people/Jászok, who had great military merit over the centuries
    Also, the Transylvanian Hungarians (mostly the Szeklers/Székelyek) still have a significant Iranian gene set compared to the Hungarians who stayed in the motherland, we're now genetically closer to the Slavs and the Germans
    God bless from Hungary! 🇭🇺🤝🇮🇷

      Germans largely left everyone alone (except for some of those Europe only wars) until World War I and World War II.
      Yeah, the only colonies that Germany had were like Tanzania, South Africa kinda/along with the Dutch, Namibia, and…. Not much else. Germans have been extremely scrutinizing regarding their own character, toughness, religion, philosophy, how they treat other people, their work ethic is TREMENDOUS, their attention to detail is second to none, their laws and rules make sense (more or less), they have a great deal in common with the Japanese in so many respects here, etc., they believe in being sober minded and principled (more or less, more esp. the old culture of Germany), yeah, there is a lot to love, and I see many, many parallels between Iran and Germany. 👍👍👍

Of course there are also real racists in Germany as in every other country in the world, but no more and no less than in any other country on earth. I love Iran and I fly there as often as I can! Unfortunately when something bad happens somewhere , it would be hard to make people forget it , just like how people think (some) germans are racist or they're more racist than others , which is not necessary true ( I never had a chance to visit germany yet , so I can't say anything , but I assume that many germans aren't like that , specially when they know there's some kind of bad rumor about them , they'll tend to be more cautious . Colony btw means when 90% of the native population dies and get's replace by colonists. Iran never went through that.
    Nor was it under Imperialism. It actually held out strong and independent from the west.
    Maybe with some exceptions like parts of their territory occupied by Russia or Britain during ww2. Iran was actually proven pretty strong and powerful in not being conquered.

      It was mostly a sphere of influence under british, russian, and other empires where they tend to buy concessions and influence (British trying to monopolize on oil in the region, i.e). The Shahs of the Qajar dynasty were smart to let these powers fight each other for influence thus the reason why Iran was never conquered. Nonetheless, it was still a time when the country was at its lowest point until Reza Pahlavi became Shah and began making a policy of nationalism which boosted Iran by a lot. I'd assume a lot of these people to have negative opinions based on the media there which tends to be highly critical of the west.

    Personally I think Iran has a cool history. And I don't just mean Persians (though them too of course obviously) but ethnic groups in Iran in general and cultures in Iran.
    while some good some bad individuals.
    I like Iran and it's history. I like Iranian cultures.

    • @Evansdrad8515
      @Evansdrad8515 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @PersianWarrior give your minorities some credit.
      No one in the middle-east lives in isolation. Every ethnic group in the middle-east has equally contributed and influenced each other's cultures. Nothing happens without a interconnected vacuum.
      I tell the Turks and Arabs the same thing. All 3 ethnicities pretend isolated histories with all in compassing contributions. When mutual overlap and influences exist. Which is one of many reasons why all ethnic groups in the middle-east are fascinating.
      But this is because I am not blinded by blind rage nationalism.

    • @Evansdrad8515
      @Evansdrad8515 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PersianWarrior Much of English culture burrows from Gaelic and Brythonic Celtic literature, and many British scientists and inventors and others in England have their roots in Celtic countries. Even if they serve England.
      Ethnicity isn't the same as national allegiance.
      And also as a Scots-Gaelic speaker I know some Gaelic loanwords natively used in English.
      In English Bard and Clan is one of many loanwords which originates from Scots-Gaelic.
      Unlike Middle-Easterners we Europeans don't depict ourselves as culturally and racially pure without outer influences or contributions and we don't pretend people regardless of ethnicities don't exist in our societies and we don't pretend they don't contribute to society. We acknowledge we are all interconnected with influences.
      Achievements and mutual cultural influences are shared.
      No one exists in a void isolated vacuum from the rest of humanity. The world doesn't revolve around a group of people.
      No culture is without external influence. No society is pure every nation has enemies and allies from all neighboring groups and help and inter ethnic conflict. But also artisans, architects, poets, theologians, economists and other fields and jobs come in to help the culture but same rule applies to the neighbors. Mutually. Cultures get mutually imported and influence. Again this rule applies mutually for everyone including everyone's neighbors.
      Mix with of course obviously self development.

    • @Evansdrad8515
      @Evansdrad8515 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PersianWarrior I mean Scottish people helped do most of the conquering and administration of Indian Raj. Most Britons in India were Scots. While English ethnics did other regions. Britain employed mostly ethnic Scots in India Raj.

    • @Evansdrad8515
      @Evansdrad8515 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PersianWarrior this isn't just Iran. Same thing with every ethnic group in the middle-east. It's all multicultural.
      And people say "mixing not allowed" is just exaggerated endogamy. There is plenty of monogamy throughout the region's history. I always find the "no mixing" exaggerated especially when izations and ifications (assimilation) is a factor.
      One side being influence by a culture doesn't mean the other wasn't. I mean Azeris only exist because of the mixture of a variety of ethnicities together be they Turkic tribes or a variety of Iranic ethnicities.
      And many articles online and famous people in the middle-east you can research are part mix of this and that.
      Especially the royalty, nobility and other echelons of society. I mean when people are neighbors for thousands of years somewhere in the autosomal even if it's rare will have a foreign root.
      Persian, Turk, Arab, Jew, Laz, Azeri, Kurd, Armenian, Aramaean, Hazara, Phoenician, Assyrian or any other ethnic group in the middle-east etc. is gonna have varying degrees of cultural elements introduced to them by all their neighbors.
      It's impossible to be purely segregated.
      I won't say everyone's mix. But at least 25% of the middle-east in the last 1000 years individuals regardless of ethnicity may have foreign extraction in them.
      Europeans used to believe in cultural and ethnic purity too. We don't anymore. Despite ancestry and clear lineage forgeries and fabrications. And cultural influences. One day The middle-east will acknowledge it too.
      I say this to every middle-easterner too. Not just you.
      I ask individuals with 100% absolute knowledge of their ancestry all the time and many admit admixture from a guy or two not of their ethnicity. And met mix individuals from the region all the time. Not hard to find.

    • @Evansdrad8515
      @Evansdrad8515 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @PersianWarrior Once middle-easterners stop being scared of genetic science and allow more of their dead to be genetically tested like Europe does I bet you and all middle-easterners will be in a immense world of shock.

    The problem is if people only think about politics and not about the ordinary people. When you think about politics, what is then the opinion about Iran?
    Also Europe is so different, all the countries have got a different history and culture. I give only the advice, don’t listen only to the things some media are talking, please make your own experiences. You will see, that there are peaceful and fantastic people all over the world. That there are people, they criticise f.e. the nazis and racism and the colonialism and are lovely and open-minded. Also there were people they were the party for peace. And also there are people in Europe, they respect other cultures a lot and are generous and helpful people. And also politicians can change, the politicians now are different than 70 years before, there are good and bad politicians. Not all the politicians are the same, they are all so different! In all countries you have got the danger that sometimes the wrong people come to power.
    It’s better not to see countries only by media. If so, you get a wrong and bad impression of a country, because media are only talking about bad things. So for the good things you have to make your own experiences. The same I would tell to Europeans about Iran.
