Oh be still my heart! Wonderful stash and makes you have Diane! This is my favorite theme and since I've been sewing for 53 years now I have a new purpose for those worn packaging. Love anything sewing and now over the last few months I've been reorganizing all of my stuff. I just love when my favorite TH-camr ladies show their sewing stash and makes! Can't wait to see what you make next!
This is wonderful Diane! I love this collection so much. I have so much vintage sewing stuff including a big hard back Singer sewing book and a home economics sewing text from the 60's. I love all things related to sewing. I look forward to the journals!
Wow! Lovely sewing ephemera! I have been collecting patterns too and it is really difficult to want to cut them up for my journals! Looking forward to your next video! Thanks for sharing!
What a wonderful treasure of sewing ephemera and patterns that you have! Thank you so much for taking us along on this wonderful tour! I found some older sewing patterns at a local thrift shop the other day and definitely have to create them into journals after seeing your inspiring video today. ❤
You would absolutely flip over the books I have from my mother! She took a pattern making course and made her own clothes from them. When I was a toddler. But also sized them down proportionately to make dresses probably no more than 8” tall. They’re all in a couple books with her handwritten and typed notes. And her stitching for appliqués and lace trim appliqués and many more things. Seeing the box of the instructions made me think extra as to how special the books are which I have. I will check your Etsy to see if you have an email available and potentially send you a link to these things - they were in my blog but I need to work on it and open it to public. I don’t think I did but a few pics of the small dresses and instructions. I think you’d enjoy seeing these things. ❤
Oh! How wonderful! Thank you for showing us your sewing ephemera. You have given me some ideas! I was lucky enough to get a tablecloth bundle! Usually everything I would want is gone by the time I see it! I so hope I get the bundle with the dark cherries, but will be happy with any of the bundles. Happy crafting!
I do love sewing patterns. I sewed all my married life and did my own clothes and for my 3 daughters as well as my mother and for friends as well. I absolutely love sewing but due to fibromyalgia and also Rheumatoid Arthritis. I do small things but it's a battle. Anyway I love all your patterns ❤
I sewed for myself, starting in the teen years, and for my children. Also a few things for my husband. Now I only sew on journals! I'm sorry for the pain you suffer, but glad you can manage to do a little bit of crafting.
I love getting a peek into your organization and collections Diane! Do you think you could do a video showing how your work setup is? Do you have different “stations” (main work area, sewing area, stamping area etc) And any tips you have on how you stay organized while you work?
Thanks, LeMinh! I have a "work" station and a sewing station. And a cutting table with my cricut and big shot. each station is pretty small because my room is small. As for the last question: I DON'T stay organized while I work! It's such a mess! I clean up after each project though.
Aha! I saw the girl with the wrap around outfit show up in this video a couple of times. (I commented on “Embellishing Sewing Pattern Journals”). And I thought I saw baby doll pjs in there somewhere (for girls not dolls, c. 1965 maybe). Plus! I’m pretty sure the sewing machine in the book 13:03 is like the one or maybe even “the exact style) as the one my mother sewed with for most of her seam-stressing days. She also did upholstery and draperies and coats and men’s suits and tried underclothing once. She didn’t care for that. And she sewed some type of nice gloves once. She was very talented and experienced in her various crafting and sewing. Anyway, I did see more pictures I recognized here and there. Really something else! Have you been a seamstress? Or are you? Thanks. By the way I’m not even half way into this video. I can’t help but comment early!!❤
I think you’re asking about the large pages? They are from vintage pattern counter catalogs, which I found on Etsy. Counter catalogs are what were on the counters in a fabric store, where we could look for the pattern we wanted, then get it out of the file drawers.
Diane thank you so so much for doing this video. This is pure eye candy to me. I just love all your videos don’t ever stop.
Aww, thank you very much!

Sigh. Wow. So very many familiar patterns. ❤❤. I think that you keep what you want and do what you want with things you purchase are up to you. ❤
The sewing patterns and other sewing items and ephemera are really wonderful! You could make many great journals with your stash!
Your sewing themed ephemera is my favorite!! I can’t wait to see how you make your sewing journals! Would be a great gift for myself.😊

@ thanks Diane! I’ll have to keep that in mind. I’m trying to reorganize and implement stations because my mess was becoming debilitating! 😂
That was SEW much fun!!

What's the name of the book or catalog with all the othing patterns?
