tecnically it would be timeline, not au. au means totally different, like naruto doesn't have kurama, or sasuke doesn't have the sharingan. timeline is a single choice and it creates a new world. idk how to explain properly, but the proper term is timeline.
AU means Alternative Universe, and to me Timeline means: That you choose a timeline you want from the Original Show, for example Naruto Shippuden is a Timeline in of the Anime Naruto. So to me this is an AU, since Naruto becomes a Villain, nothing else changes, and that means it’s an AU. It pretty much depends on what you change and not. It doesn’t have to be entirely different from the cannon universe of the Show
