@@nicholas440 Definitely research. Anyone can cut the mufflers and call it a day. He wanted an exhaust system that is as loud as possible that will not cause him performance after he put all that money into his drivetrain. He went with longtube headers so he can have the maximum flow out of the system with high flow cats. Then he put an x-pipe to keep it increase scavenging and add a little extra increase in performance in the upper rpms and then finally he went with J - pipes to reduce the drone caused by the lack of mufflers and resonators..That is a full race exhaust setup. That is over $2000 worth of exhaust modifications. Not a cheap muffler delete. Thank goodness the only thing they did was well on some tips to make it look pretty.
@@FirstnameLastname-pe5ib This guy had his own version of an xMOD exhaust system made for fraction of the price he would have had to spend if he just bought the exhaust system from the factory. The xMOD exhaust is made by MagnaFlow. It comes in street and race configuration. The race version has no muffler or resonators. Just an X-pipe for upper rpm power and j-pipes for drone. Sounds really amazing with long tube headers and straight pipes, and 121 decibels is like louder than a train which only is about 115 decibels which is nice 💪🔥

I had mine set up pretty similar but it got annoying after a while, got a ton of attention though. Had an H pipe put in place of the X and some resonators in the centre section and now it’s too quiet 😂
Idk if the owner went the Solo Performance route for his exhaust system since I can't remember if their j pipes look like that. But he could pick up the G8 GXP diffuser (they let you run +3.5" exhaust tips) so he didn't have to cut out material of his current one. I picked up my diffuser for my g8 gt for about $215 last week.
Do you happen to know what cam it has? I prefer 3in exhaust on my G8 GT. 2.5in was slightly "louder" to the ear but 3in has a deeper tone that I personally like more. I have a BTR Stage 2 cam.
How does the J pipe that was mentioned cut out the drone. Curious because I have a 6.0 with 1 7/8 long tubes 2.5 pipe true dual into black widow's and it drones like crazy going down the highway.
"The idea is that different RPMs have different frequencies, and with a correct length j pipe the sound waves will bounce off the closed end, travel back down the pipe and cancel out the frequency, eliminating the drone."

I live in Dickson, TN. Which I believe is not too far from your shop. But, I have the exact same car, except mine is all stock, just same color and model and year, but my bolts in my cats are welded to the cats, would you be able to get a rusted nut on the passenger cat off to get this full performance catback exhaust I have for it? It's basically plug and play exhaust with the parts and super easy install, just don't have the necessary tools for the situation that came up when trying to install at home.
I just bought a 1985 Corvette with the 350 what kind of exhaust would you recommend to make it sound insane I have a cam and a few other parts on it but it don't sound good to me any suggestions would be helpful thanks
Since space is limited. Shorty Headers, High Flow Cats, 2.5 Inch Duals into an X-Pipe. Then for Mufflers Cherry Bomb Extremes or M-80s. If you want a litte bit better, Flowmaster Super 10s.
Think was a mistake and meant full exhaust. You can't partially cam an engine.. unless you don't upgrade the valve springs which is usually recommended when you do the camshaft.
@@beronib888 did you miss sarcasm 101 in high school? Lol jk bro. I figured he meant fully straight piped. I know there’s either cammed as in aftermarket or not cammed as in factory 🤣
Finally. A person who put in his research and it shows.
Research? It's just long tubes and straight pipe not much to look into lol proper Corsa system would sound better

1 of the best sounding rides I've heard on this channel.

Dodge....

Not usually a fan of straight pipes, but this sounds good. The tuned j-pipes make all the difference.
J pipes are fantastic at getting rid of that unwanted drone I have them on both my loud Ls cars
V8s need drone.
now that is a great sounding v8 car.
mean yet clean.
very well done 👌
I absolutely love the G8. If I can’t find a charger or challenger for a good price I would love to get something like this
