This choreo is one of my favorite songs and choreos from Seventeen, and them doing this the 2x speed nearly kills them. I really get what you are saying about some dancers in groups being stronger than others, and kpop fans DO totally acknowledge that (unless they are delusional or think it is offensively said). Even in groups like Seventeen where they are all aces who can sing and dance, the performance team are the BEST of the dancers, and if you watch closely, any time there is an intricate move in the choreo, at least one performance team member is involved in it, if not having the whole move be those members. Like here, the member who did the little side aerial was The8, performance team member. When the few members lock hands and start weaving through each other, that was The8 with Vernon and Joshua (hiphop and vocal teams) joined then by a couple of the members you see doing more of the dance skills, Woozi and S. Coups (vocal and hiphop teams). As a matter of fact, every time they initiate a difficult sequence, particularly in this song, it’s a performance member. The first time they drop to the floor for the chorus, the entire front line is the four performance team members. When they are all bunched together to do the sequence of ripples, three out of four of the front members are performance members. I’m rambling. Anyway, what I’m saying is that even in groups of such heavily talented dancers like Seventeen, they have dancers who they put forward over others. Kpop groups have “dance line”s for a reason, which are what you call the members known to be the best dancers. Like BTS’ dance line is Jimin, JHope, JK and V.
I have been WAITING for you to get to Don't Wanna Cry. SVT choreo is like always like the SICKEST in the kpop game. Just from their musicality, technicality, synchronization...GEESH. If you can't tell I love them and their dancing LOL. You can watch ALL of their dance practices and they have been this amazing basically from the beginning
