  • Both the Switchbot Bot and Fingerbot Plus are devices that make existing buttons and switches controllable via your smartphone or voice assistant. Here I compare both of these devices.

    I have Fingerbot and Fingerbot plus. After getting a Fingerbot plus to replace a broken Fingerbot, I was told I needed to upgrade to the "Mesh Hub" app. Once doing that integration through Alexa stopped working for adaprox, and the Mesh Hub app would not pair to Amazon/Alexa regardless of how I tried do it, and Adaprox support became nonexistent. Now I either use only their proprietary app, or nothing which makes the devices fairly useless to me..

    I wonder how much pressure/force the units exert, and if there are other products that have a stronger push. I also wonder what the mechanism is -- a threaded screw etc.

    • @MarksTechVlogs
      @MarksTechVlogs  หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Neither are huge amounts of pressure but I’m not sure if there’s anything stronger out there either

    I am interested to know that if I dont want to use the hub how many phones can I connect to the Fingerbot at once? Can it only be paired with one device? I want to use it to push buttons on the garage remote fob and give bluetooth access to various colleagues.

      I’m not sure if you can pair to multiple phones unless you have the app and same login on them but you can use it without the hub as long as you’re in Bluetooth range

    Thanks for the video; it's nice to see them compared side-by-side!
    I'm wondering if it's possible to use the app to program repeated presses... Say, a press every thirty seconds or every minute, and have that continue (when out of Bluetooth range) until commanded to stop. Are either of them able to do that?
    (In my case, I'd like it to trigger my camera while being flown by a large kite. Related, but not so important, is there any significant weight difference between the two?)

      It can be done without a hub. You will set up the schedule via the switchbot app. But, if you want to manually press the button and are not in bluetooth range the hub is required. So say you wanted to turn on the A/C from the car on your way home you would need a hub, but if you wanted to have your espresso machine turn on at 8am each day you would not need a hub.
      I put a switchbot bot on my Door Buzzer for my apartment, and with the switchbot Hub can use google assistant to let myself in without having to use my keys.
      Hope this helps!
