young 22 year old from South Africa, I try to learn from the old, maybe I can one day truly detach from electronics and live easier knowing what people like you teach!
And that is how knowledge is passed on to the Uninitiated. I appreciate your time making these videos. When it's minus 30° Celsius here, this might save my life. 🤙
I live in Iowa. It's fascinating watching your videos and seeing techniques that are similar to what I use in the woods but utilizing vastly different materials.
So nice in desert or Southwest. Here in Maryland it is pretty tough making friction fire from wood. I have done it in my kitchen. My wife didn't appreciate it much. She asked me why I was doing it inside. I asked her if she ever tried making friction fire in the humid Summer in Maryland. She said no of coarse cause she would use a lighter. Lol
🤣 I always have to mentally translate what he’s doing in such a calm, cool manner-> me doing it while sobbing “I’m gonna diiiiiiiie out heeeeeeere” 😭😭😭
I live on the Chesapeake Bay, been in the woods since before I can remember. My Pop was big on teaching us kids survival love my maple for this. I think knowing trees is pretty darn helpful also in this tye of situation. Great video brother, stumbled across your channel by chance but definitely worth a subscribe. This way of life is dying and while I live pretty comfortable I make it a point to take the kids out and teach them this stuff. Doing these videos is a pain so thanks brother, see you out there.
Thanks Jon. I appreciate that greatly. I like your approach and outlook. Life is long and I’m here to just share what I know. Thanks again. Much respect.
Man, I absolutely love these videos. I love the outdoors and take my family camping alot but always wanted to learn all of this type of stuff. Thank God TH-cam algorithm blessed me by stumbling across one of your TH-cam short clips🤙
Loved your book Earthroamer. I'm from Littleton, I'd like to do an out and back earthroam in Rampart. Just working on my KSAs. Thanks for everything sir.
Awesome. Colorado in the house. Haha. Rampart is a great place to do one. Lots of springs, caves, and opportunities…I let you discover them on your own. Stay curious.
Great stuff mate, very applicable to South Australia where I live. I also enjoy your other channel "the gray bearded green beret" keep up the excellent content! Cheers
Great videos man glad I found this channel, not sure I'll be using this technique in north carolina and Im usually inside haha but love the content all the same✌
Out-friggin-standing, brother. I'm looking forward to seeing if yucca works as well. That is what we have around here. Well, that and Chinese Elm....yuck. Seriously, this may be the best instructional video on this I've ever seen. Well done.
Excellent. I really appreciate you taking the time to reply. I've been trying to learn how to be more self sufficient. I'm actually out hunting right now with my daughter. Took a minute to check messages on a break. Thanks again
Dont mean to be nosey. But I am highly amazed and interested by your life style, zen and skills. Would this lifestyle be considered more of a weekend get away aside having a "normal life, job,..." Or this is more of a few months of year at a time periods. (I hope im not being rude, love the vids n purity)
Appreciate your kindness and candor. Well, it’s what I do, all the time and in every form possible. If you live what you do on your weekends…then you should just do that.
@@DonnyDustsPaleoTracks I’ve seen some rabbit skinning videos that were not censored. I believe as long as you don’t make the video for kids you should be fine. It’s definitely a gray area though.

It's really advantageous watching your videos to learn about how to use desert resources having moved out west to NM!

Check out my Paleo Tracks Survival website under my bookshelf. I recommend all the ones on my bookshelf. Great reads.
So I can do this basically every tree branch?
No, but you can experiment with what ones work the best.
Where can I find some of your tools for sale....?
This Wednesday I’ll be opening my store at my Paleo Tracks Survival Site.
I hear a voice whisper. At 14:19. What waz that.
Imagine the first human to do this. He must have been a God to his people
What kind of knife is that you are using?
It’s a Pukko styled knife.
@@DonnyDustsPaleoTracks did you make it or is it something you can buy?

How do you charge ur devices
Solar panel.
Do you think you could show us how to clean, process, and skin an animal?
I can, but some things will have to be out of sight. Big restrictions these days.
