  • Picking up where my last video left off, I continue my bike ride, starting at the State Road 50 Trailhead in Spring Hill/Brooksville, and head north to the State Road 44, Gulf to Lake Trailhead in Lecanto.
The terrain gets more hilly and you'll find less and less people out on trail on this northern half.
Luckily I continued to find wildlife along the way and I was surprised to see the Suncoast Parkway was actually elevated above the cycling path. Made it nice to not have to look at the cars.
In this section there are less road crossings and even a few pedestrian bridges to get you over busier roads.
As I did in the first leg of the journey, I stopped for a little hike to break up the ride. This time I stopped at the Fickett Hammock Preserve. It was quite buggy and humid in there. Trails were wet as well. Nothing too bad, but it did keep me moving.
No facilities are at the preserve, or anywhere once you leave the SR 50 trail head. Bring extra water!
A quick list of what I saw includes; birds, fields, mushrooms, slugs, forests, snails, rabbits, tortoises, trees, spiders, flowers, millipedes, insects, and farm animals.
I will say the end of the trail leaves a little to be desired. Kinda just ends. lol

Most of these birds would be lifers for most of the birders here where I live.
Awesome !! Thanks so much for sharing. We all appreciate. 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻

Beautiful video! I especially enjoyed the flowers, and it looked like a beautiful morning. You've inspired me to get up and out earlier, and I'm enjoying the early morning!

Nice! Lots of benefits to an early start. Less people, less heat, less chance of rain/lightning....
