Well that's Creator Kit! It's a niche accessory by Peak Design but I'm finding good use for it in certain scenarios as you've seen. Who else owns this? I haven't seen a whole lot of buzz about it. Anyone that thinks it isn't a useful tool? I'd be curious to hear!
The thumbscrew on the ARCA adapter is for the Peak Design Capture clip. When the creator kit is mounted, the screw prevents movement and play between the adapter and the clip. It can also work for other ARCA quick release system to prevent movement.
Good to know! That’s what I figured but never felt the need for any additional tightening. I’ve always found that the Travel Tripod and Capture Clip were really tight but perhaps with other ballheads?
I have the Travel Tripod and just received the Creator Kit - I agree with your assesment of the mobile clamp that comes with the Travel Tripod, I never felt safe/secure with that thing. The horizontal/vertical switch with the magnet instead of the ball clamp makes the world a difference
The knob you weren't sure about at 1:45 and 9:45, I have the Capture Clip as well and when you put that on the Capture Clip, the knob helps tighten it otherwise it makes a weird clanging sound or sits loosely
This is the only accessory that I was genuinely excited about when I found out about the mobile line. I'm glad it was part of the initial wave of products that launched.
Sweet! You got it right? How’s it been for you so far and how are you using it?
I’ve used it to mount my phone to my backpack strap to take some POV video + time-lapse as well as placing my phone on top of my mirrorless to take videos and stills at the same time. POV use was okay but not great. Video worked fine. I also wish it was a bit smaller.
Btw, do you have an Everyday Backpack Zip 20l? I’m thinking of getting it.
I use this kit with Capture on my backpack shoulder strap. I can then monitor sound recording handsfree, for instance when using the app BirdNet.
I love BirdNet!! That’s a great use case for this :)
I could be wrong, but I think that additional screw can also be used to connect to a female 1/4-20 mount. I have a new Ford Bronco on order and it has a female 1/4-20 mount on the dash that I *believe* that screw will fit right into. Still waiting on a build date on my Bronco though, so it'll be awhile before I can confirm.

Do you have a 3rd party product recommendation for a sturdy selfie-stick that would have a bluetooth remote built-in and would attach do your creator kit so I can use slimlink to hold the phone?

Yes, good eye! It's an accessory like this one here: amzn.to/3Ljin0N. These were designed for GoPro accessories but since Creator Kit uses that same base, you can use it with this as well.

I like the idea of a selfie-stick for photography like you recommended using the mobile creator kit. Do you have a recommendation of a good selfie stick with a shutter button (bluetooth) that has the go-pro mount to support the creator kit?
This is a good stick that is compatible with GoPro mounts but doesn’t have a shutter button. I’ll keep looking! amzn.to/3yxebmN
I bought the go pro 3 way it doesn’t swim to clamp on creator kit… I thought it was compatible as you recommended it…

@@larsreyes3360 there are different parts from the creator kit that you can swap in order to support the go-pro style mount, it's included in the box of the creator kit.
