      TheOtherWhiteBread0 Here in Michigan 5grand is a lot to spend on a dock. A lot of the docks are pre made modular sections that are removed every fall because otherwise they would be ripped apart and sent downstream when the ice breaks up or during spring flooding. This isn't Florida. Aluminum docks with wheels are popular on wixom. Easy in, easy out. Same with boat lifts.

      No, they warned Lee Mueller, the private owner of these dams, not "county officials". Mueller, has been warned about these dams for years, and actually wanted the lakefront property owners to pay for the near 100 grand repair(back in 2011, it was probably far more than that now since he neglected them for so long) to the dam, even though he owns them, and was making money hand over fist from them.

      16 He gives snow like wool;
      He scatters the frost like ashes.
      17 He casts forth His ice as fragments;
      Who can stand before His cold?
      18 He sends forth His word and melts them;
      He causes His wind to blow and the waters to flow.
      The problem of the day is the world gives glory to everything else...and has forsaken God...His word says this of those and the nations who have forsaken God.
      Psalm 9:17 The wicked will return to hell, Even all the nations who forget God.
      Isaiah 45:6-7
      6 That men may know from the rising to the setting of the sun
      That there is no one besides Me.
      I am the Lord, and there is no other,
      7 The One forming light and creating darkness,
      Causing well-being and creating calamity;
      I am the Lord who does all these.
      Amos 3:6-7
      6 If a trumpet is blown in a city will not the people tremble? If a calamity occurs in a city has not the LORD done it?

    Listen to this guy talking about water level going down being "devastation" because he can't use his dock and boat anymore.
    Nothing happened to him and his neighbors. People actually lost their homes and businesses because the water was kept dangerously high due to lakefront water level complainers.

      Usually lakes like this are created to be used as a source of drinking water, so yeah, that is devastating

    • @ben-7403
      @ben-7403 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@adamgottlieb5818 They can also be extremely wasteful. Look at Lake Powell for example, loses unimaginable amounts of water due to evaporation every year. Maybe more feasible in the humid conditions of Michigan, but nothing good comes from meddling with waterways.

    This was a very good coverage. I live in Austin, Texas and we a have a about 3 dams on the Colorado River that form several lakes. We do pay attention to water levels. If those dams fail Austin would be under water.

    I was at my lakehouse following this story over the weekend. Heartbreaking stuff man. As I was reading on my dock , the lake level was 27 1/2 ft above normal pool. (Norfolk lake, north central Arkansas) For as strict as the Core of Engineers are you'd think things like this should be at the top of the priority list.
