Yeah that's as tight as you can go without killing it. Unfortunately I think it needs to go back to the boundary as a few inches over is ok but that hedge is taking the mick. Shame as it was a decent enough hedge. Leylandii must be kept tightly trimmed each year. People need to take responsibility for their property.
Fair play mate. I think youve only kept it from being got rid of for a couple of years, but eventually thats going to have to go. No way like you say you can cut that back anymore without losing it
Usually highways agency complaining they want 8 foot clear from path to overhang around here . Great job needs taking out really but folks don’t want to pay the big bucks
Where abouts are you? Most of the public footpaths here look similar to this with walls, hedges, fencing and plenty of overhang from trees. I think this will go too at some point. Cheers 👍
mate thats as tight as and you have nailed it ...ONCE A AGAIN ...hopefully the shiny arse office council worker approves... we have the same thing in our council area down under and our well paid hard working ( cough cough ) council officials actually get the tape measure out ..we had a hedge similar to your and was out by 6 inches and had to do it again ..WTF ,the best one was we have swimming pool fencing regs that have specific requirements about shrubs and trees close by to the pool fence ,this one customer of mine had a large pot and we had to use a crane to install , it was 15 mm too close and we had to get a crane to move it ,yep again ...Good luck Nathan great video great channel enjoy immensely
I agree about the plastic coverings on the hla's. My issue is especially in wet conditions they let in a lot so constantly have to clean/re grease them. No chance I'd be without them though. Apparently the makita hedge gear is top notch too 👍
I would not be without battery hedge trimmers now too👍 I've also heard Makita are good, hopefully have something lined up to demo shortly and not the usual contenders🤔😅👍
I did once read Leylandii and other types of hedging can seriously devalue the price of a home. You have taken that Leylandii back as far as you can. Any deeper and new growth would very likely not happen. Council may not accept that as the hedge is still outside of the property boundary and still obstructing a public footpath.
Hi, get a good couple of hours trigger time on the hedge trimmer, plenty of power for trimming but thicker cutting you'd be using petrol or a different battery tool. Cheers 👍
I bought a pair of those triangle hedge trimming signs from Tudor for when im doinf roadside work... Youll find theres still people out there who will blatantly walk straight through anyway 😑
It’s always a conifer encroaching over somewhere it shouldn’t be! Why can’t it ever be something that’ll grow back if reduced 😅. done the best you can do really with it still looking green. Don’t particularly like working roadside, people do try their very best to fall over or act like you’re hindering their ability to walk 🙄
It may look very neat but that's not enough. It's still sticking out too much. Pedestrians should not be hindered in any way. It needs to be cut back inside the wall. If the hedge then looks bad or even dies, then so be it. It should never have been allowed to hang over the wall in the first place.
Definitely should have been kept in line over the years to prevent it pushing out, I'd say it needs removing on that corner with the road...let's see what the customer and council decide about it. Thanks 👍
I really am struggling to say anything nice about conifer. It's an itchy, eye stinging nightmare. Have you ever asked how window washers who use pole fed brushes manage without people accidently tripping over the hose? I asked a couple and both replied back with "I'm insured" ! I need some leaf grabbers. Which ones would you recommend?
Hi nice job that, can I ask how many batteries did you use in the hedge cutter to do a job like that, I do what you do for a living , but I'm still using petrol tools only , best wishes
Hi, the hedge trimmer had an ap300s in and just about used 1 bar from what I remember. Definitely wouldn't be without battery hedge trimmers now👍 thanks for watching
I’ll be perfectly honest. I don’t think anything should overhang your property. Unless it’s a tree which is not causing any obstruction to the footpath traffic Which this conifer? And shrub going down the wall and onto the path clearly does. Just another sidenote. it really frustrates me and lots of other people when blowers are used to blow leaves and debris into the road If anything, try and blow clear up any additional leaves around the area . Obviously without affecting you too much.
I agree, that should be cut back to the wall there but not my call and I'd actually cleaned up a load of leaves from the road that were from all the surrounding trees in council land, that was the first thing I did to make my clear up easier and work safer but I wasn't going to do all across the road that's for sure. Cheers 👍
Leaf grabbers from Tudor look solid, how do they compare to the darlacs? Won’t be long before I’m purchasing one of those HLA’s just look a pleasure to use Keep the videos coming Nathan 👍
They're great on big piles and robust, darlacs good around shrubs etc as smaller 👍 battery definitely for me and the hla has done great....may have something interesting on here hopefully in the next few weeks that may give you another option 🤞 cheers 👍
Hi Nathan great video. Somebody has walked by that hedge and then complained to the council, got nothing better to do with their lives. Very rare do the council go looking at hedge's. It's nearly always a complaint from a member of the public. Cheers Garry Solihull
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd All well with us mate, still very busy.last lawn cuts this week and hedge trimming. Be glad to have a break over Christmas. Always like to see the back of the lawns, but nice when you start again march. Work hard Nathan 💪 all the best Garry.
So the hedge has had an enforcement notice (rightly so) because it's sticking out over the public pavement by approx 3 feet, blocking full access for people, also blocking road visibility. Youve been hired to sort it, and you've only trimmed off 6-10 inches 😅 yes it looks nicer, but the issue still isn't resolved 😂 why didnt you cut it back to the brick wall line, where the property boundary is?
I mentioned the homeowner was hoping the trim would keep them happy, I'm not responsible for the order or how much gets cuts off but I do what I'm asked and if that means calling back to remove the hedge that's another job. Customers choice to leave it at a tight trim for now, back to the wall would kill that hedge so we'll see. Cheers
@@LewisgardenservicesLtd fair point, and you do secretly know the council will want it taken right back, so you know you're getting paid again when you get called back to cut it right back properly 👍🏻 actually a good business move
It's funny, I'd love to put more trimming into some videos and this one initially did by my views drop off straight away then, guess my audience is different to other channels that are all work and get plenty of views. My latest video has plenty of work and next to no talking tho so check that out. Thanks for watching and your comment 👍
Wasn't going to clean up all the council verge tree leaves too😅 some hedge had drifted road ways but I'd always shifted some leaves so even stevens I recon👍
It’s amazing how you've brought such beauty to that outdoor space. Good trim 👍👍
It looked a bit better 👍 thanks for your comment

They definitely get out of hand when left😬 thanks for watching 👍
Nice work BUT council might insist on a more severe cut - the footpath is still obscured!
Time will tell on this one. Cheers for watching 👍

Looks great, nice and tidy !!!!
Thanks, bit rough in places but better there. Thanks for watching 👍
Lovely job mate, shame its hasn't been done more regularly over the years. Hopefully the council man will let it go another year 👍
Cheers, I guess whoever complained to the council will decide if it's good enough to warrant another call🤔😅 thanks mate👍
Looks quite authentic in my view … people shouldn’t be on the pavements anyway…. 😊
They get a coat wash off the hedge as they go past😅
@ Don’t know how lucky they are .. 👍
Great work, you have tried your best

because of location on a bend and near a school as mentioned i can see it been removed at some point, it is what it is !
Yea could be the next job there 😬
Satisfying cut to say the least.
Thanks 👍 was a nice little job. Cheers for watching
hope the council are ok with it Nathan wouldn't fancy taking back to the wall (probably lose it 😲)
Hopefully, back to the wall would result in the whole lot out unfortunately. Cheers mate 👍
Pity the Council don't abide by their own rules.
That's a fact 🤣👍

What’s the running time on the electric long reach and would it have the power of a petrol driven unit?

Hi Nathan Councils & Highways like to complain about over grown hedges here as well Thanks again
Funny how some get complained about and equally bad ones never have a problem 🤔 either way was a job😅 cheers mate, have a good week 👍
my mother has a similar hedge and we just tell the council that its on their side its theirs to cut if they want it cut.
That'll stop them😂 apparently they'll get it done and bill you but I can't see how that's enforced 🤔 thanks for watching 👍
I bet the postman will be happy with the result.
