That is a nice looking gate for just about free, what a blessing! Great team work between you two as well. I know there will come a time when I will consider putting up an electric fence so this was a great video from the informational side as well as fun to watch! Take care and Happy New Year!!
Very helpful. Thanks guys. I didn't know you could just knot the tape together and it would still work. Now i know i don't have to be so precious with the install.
Good stuff y'all! Over the years we've used both types of fence posts- the ones with fixed clips and tread ins and the posts with yellow insulators. Sometimes the fiberglass can split/shatter when driving them in bc of rocks & the tread ins can break off (especially if it's cold enough outside) but it looks like you've got more of a permanent setup than our rotational paddocks. Good luck friends!
Thanks! Rocks aren't a big issue since we really only have LOTS of clay, but we did hit a few roots that can also cause a problem. Thanks for watching 😀
Truly out favorite. Wire is nice but harder to see, which is why I like this.. and it's so easy to work with, reuse, and relocate. Thanks for watching 😀
I had to laugh. "Hey, hawk! Sorry. Squirrel." How many of us do this?! Everyone in MY family, too. Thanks for the video. I've been challenged using electric polytape, but I've never seen those clamps before. Heading to hardware store tomorrow to see if that solves my problem. I've tried most everything else!
If we ever need an electric fence, you’ll have to lend us Jeff to hook it up because I’m pretty sure if I tried, I’d blow myself to the moon 🌙 🤣 I feel like his knowledge of “man stuff” knows no bounds. He knows everything a man needs to know to basically do anything, ever. Lol 😆
I don't see why not, good idea... Just remember, they are crafty little buggers and may find a way to avoid it. Great question, let know if you do and how it works out for you. Thanks for stopping by and following along ☺️
Electric fencing is my best friend for sure. I'm not real impressed with poly though. Them tiny little wires seem real fragile. I'm old and prefer solid wire. You found some great deals. Good luck
Thanks for the input - we haven't had any issues at all with it, but that's not to say that we won't... the stuff we are using is almost 5 years old, so we may need to keep an eye on it. Yes, we are always on the lookout for a good deal! Thanks for watching :)
Well, I'll be darned - I didn't show it. Shame on me! You are the first person to mention it - so thanks, I'll be sure to show it the next time I do a video on the poly. You can see it in the background at 8:20 ... It's the green box looking thing on the pole over my shoulder. If you want more info on it, let me know 😀
Not sure... It was here when we bought the property... I can tell you it's very hearty, grows like crazy, and very hard to get rid of. I would assume it's pretty easy to grow just based on my experience with trying to get rid of it. Be sure though, if you are wanting to plant bamboo that you check your local and state laws... Many states have laws against growing bamboo and other evasive plant species such as bamboo. Thanks for watching 🙂
This is the most uninformative way to hook up a fence. How do you hook it up to the power box. If you are going to do a video show in detail how to do it from start to finish don’t just show a simple hook up. I don’t mean to sound mean but the truth is the truth.
Thanks for the feedback. Our intent was to simply state that poly-tape is a quick and easy temporary option for a donkey - but we may do a follow-up soon when we set his new paddock.
@@keim3548 appreciate you stopping by, and thank you for replying to the previous post - you obviously understood that we were simply showing the benefits of poly-tape. We do still plan to do a new video showing others how to hook up the energizer, and hope you come back to see. Enjoy your evening!
This is EXACTLY what I needed to see!! Those clamps!! Thank You God Bless
So glad we could help... Those clamp are SO handy!
Really appreciate you stopping by 😊

It does work well, and certainly cheaper by not having to buy all the connections.
thanks for watching 😀
nice find on the wire, great info you shared on splicing the wire together.
We just LOVE a good deal! Thank you for your kindness and thanks for watching 😀
Hey that is a good trade! Especially when you have an abundance of a resource like you do 😜
We were absolutely THRILLED! I'll trade bamboo all day long for deals like this :)

@@HomesteadFresh yep that and frozen ground...but the show must go on🤪
@@MountainRoots EXACTLY!
Thank you, and best wishes from Cambridge UK.
You're very welcome, and thank you for watching and commenting 🙂
good way to build a fence i see the Mrs was not going to fall for that one LOL
Cheap, Easy, and Fast... I love this fencing.
Yeah, she's was on her toes that day 🤣
Thanks for watching!
Thank you!
Hope it was helpful, thanks so very much for stopping by 😊
I've done netting, wire, poly wire, and wire wire...but never the polytape! I have been considering it!

@@HomesteadFresh I'm gonna try polytape because I want the asshole deers to be able to see it in the dark.
Hahahaha... Good point!

The clamps are awesome, they really help out.

He really is a bit of "Jack-of-all-trades"
I don't know what I would do without him
Could this be a raccoon deterrent if I strap the tape to the top of fence that the raccoons scale to come in the property?

I sure would like a report on how well and long it works
It works great! We've had this same tape for 3 years and we got it used, so it's pretty hardy!
Thanks for watching 😀
So did I miss it or where is your fencer control

It's as if you can't read the directions that come with the energizer. You must be one of those lazy younger generations.
