    I really like this interview, Lisa is such a brillant writer, what I liked the most is the fact that she'll remain faithful to the story, because sometimes 2nd parts are really dissapointing

      And unrealistic. As season 2 has been wriiten for a while, I hope it is as authentic and real as season 1 with no corny drama as in other zeen dramas. I cant wait to see what is coming ahead for Wilhelm and of course the others...

  • @dianelechner1570

    Season 2 is going to knock us out..but will be as real and natural as season 1. We dont need over dramatized teen dramas as in the USA or models with trendy perfect styles as actors as in Elite. It will be kept real as Lisa is just so real herself .

  • @divrodricks2525
    @divrodricks2525 2 ปีที่แล้ว +56

    I love this. I love what she said about the fire scene at the end, after Wilhelm cuts the call, and the "fire" in him is ignited, such beautiful to know their thought processes behind scenes. I love the fact that the cast had actors that weren't as "screen big" or famous. It is true and it did feel like home and like seeing your neighbor. The characters that gave me the most home feeling, was Rosh and Ayub. Since I'm from a lower-middle class background, living in India, I could see myself in them the most. The way they thought, looked, dressed, felt about the rich. The little facial hair, it's such a small detail, but we indians are hairy and we don't very frequently see characters on teen tv shows that even look closely like we do. So those two had my whole heart.
    And I really liked the discussion y'all had about fans expectations and how we can and should create our own universes and let the writers create theirs..and how it would be too obvious if we got the storylines we wanted, it takes away the curiosity.

    "You can hate the system but the people in it didn't choose to be born there either." We're all human beings on one planet and we all feel love, so somehow we'll have to make life happen together. Watching this interview again, now that Lisa got her S3 (hoorah!!), I'm so grateful that "the itches" never disappeared! It never gets bored with how much love she talks about the cast (like how grateful she is for Edvin's talents to tell a story with his eyes & body language). So looking forward to how this ends - will some balance be found (hopeful), or will they be crushed by "the system" (realistic but not certain). Both possible... What a treat to have writers like Lisa on this planet. Thanks to Chloe for giving so much time to this wonderful conversation.

    For the third season I have the feeling that Lisa and the co-writers will shift the focus to Simon and his own personal path. There are many fragments of his life and personal purposes that have been placed here and there (I think not by accident) in the first two seasons.
    We know that Simon is very talented, he whishes to emerge and get away from Bjärstad and his dreams and ambitions preceded Wille's arrival in his life. We have seen a small glimpse of his past traumatic family experience, and what might happen with his sister after her betrayal can hardly be imagined.
    I expect Simon's things to be told and somehow "resolved" (like the painful elationship with his father) perhaps even with the help of Wille (he gave Micke a long look as he walked away from the Santa Lucia ceremony). Honestly, I'm not too sure that Simon's future life choices will be easy, and that they could probably take him further away from Wille than we would expect.
    I'm hoping for some brilliant and not overly traumatic solution from Lisa. She is very talented and I am confident in her. These characters truly deserve to smile more, and to see their bravery and huge heart rewarded.
    Fingers crossed.

    What an interview!!! I loved all the questions, and Lisa is so brilliant. Very very intrestring learning the creative process of writing and building, and re-building of the scenes and characters during the realization of the series. The actors are all amazing (the casting was incredibly brilliant) and it's beatiful to discover their contribute to the developing of their characters in that so tridimentional way. No one could be better than Edvin to portrait a complex character like Whilelm, his inner emotions that come to the surface through his eyes and expressions (even when barely visible). I think this series has a cinematic quality: great directing, acting, shooting, and musical choices, and the deepness of writing is so rare.
    Congrats to Lisa for being the creator of this precious story, and to the whole cast and crew. And compliments to Chloe for the beautiful interview.

    What a fantastic interview! She has so much power, what an amazing creative force! Im inspired!
    I really like her down to earth and humble take on the human experience, she is so right to explore that side of story telling.. I am also so much more fascinated by the flawed young/unfolding human experience than a holier than thou script about wokeness.. And I hope to see that time coming, in such an international world, where the specifics of local culture and ethnicity are shared frankly, relatably, with insight, as a generous sharing of uniqueness, rather than a pan global woke multicultural ideals which is in fact so often just a whitewashed capitalist beige boring cinema.
    I loved that young royals addressed so much of this in just small palatable glimpses, while we get to enjoy this deep sense of real connection to the characters and their lives. Its beautiful. Everyone knows what it is to have their trust broken, or to have to make a decision where you feel your values are compromised by circumstance or where you strive for a better world and get broken, and telling this without self indulgence and with so much lightness and tenderness is such a beautiful thing to watch.
    Im very fascinated that we are finally getting these stories, written and directed by women and also with intimacy coordinators who bring such a mew level of safeness and realism into the mood. Its wonderful. Im excited to see more, and so taken with this story. Im so glad theyre all getting the credit they deserve.

      Thanks for watching :) We do have some Season 2 interviews on our channel, but you're right, the global reach has meant a number of our Season 1 guests were not available for Season 2 (we're proud of and excited for them, though!).
      'The Permanent Rain' is a song title by The Dangerous Summer, one of our co-founder's favourite songs! It also fits the stereotype of a lot of rain in the city where we're based, Vancouver (Canada).

      Will search for the song on TH-cam. I once spent a year in Vancouver - a very long time ago, before so many movies were made there. Had been warned of the weather, but apart from more than a week of fog around Christmas, it was not that different from what we get in my native Stuttgart, Germany.
      So that's why you call yourself The Permanent Rain Press - but what do you do, apart from making great interviews and posting them on youtube? Or ist that it?

    Question to Lisa:
    Do you want to put some humour in Young Royals season 2? … To let it be more deep…?

  • @openedtodiscussion
    @openedtodiscussion 2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

    Lisa, I hope you will follow your line of ideas, and not get too much influenced by fans. I see fans focused on the authentical / emotional romance, what I get and support (what an incredible chemistry and scenario).
    But if I got it correctly the show is also about "family inheritance, and its weigh" on the children/teenager in their day to day life, whatever the social class they are from. We had an hint with Wilhem family inheritance weight on him, Simon one, Felice one, and August one.
    I really hope, if it is an important theme for you to dig into deeper, that you will be allowed to do it, even if it is more subtle to be touched by this theme than by the romance part of the show.
