I just picked up a Skylark. It's kinda what I've been searching for for so long. Just love it.

Carr Amps are just gorgeous. Problem is, they are sooo revealing I had to reintonate my guitars due to the carr amp being so revealing and true to the instruments sound. They are incredible, fun ,functional ànd works of art! Best true single channel tube amps on the market if you are a rock, jazz , Blues guy. Kudos to Steve Carr Amps and his crew.

8 years later and I have an impala coming in two days and can’t freaking wait..I already been gigging the super bee for 6 months …but ready for some oomph

I totally understand that. I'm a little on the fence with the Super Bee lately. I've been gigging a Tone King Imperial MKII a lot the past few weeks. The added headroom helps it take my overdrive pedals with more poise. So I understand your excitement about the incoming Impala. Curiously, that's an amp I didn't love when I played it years ago. I'd like to revisit it since it has a Master Volume as I recall?

I think Skylark sounds tighter and has a fuzzy kinda compression going on when breaking up. But Rambler sounds awesome too

Both are great.....But my god, the Skylark is a Blues Machine. Perfect for small club gigs.

Hey GR, I'm enjoying your channel and your band is cool. Does the Lark have a speaker out for my cabs? Also if you've experienced the Magnatone Twilighter how does it stack up to your 2 Carr amps? Probably closer to the Rambler my guess. The M amp looks like the best thing since sliced bread.

If the Rambler had an attenuator, I'd be all over it. Seriously considering a Skylark.

There's the tone stack trick: turn treble, mids and bass to zero. Then dial in just a bit treble, mids and bass. This way you can turn up the Volume without getting way too loud. It's not whisper quiet, but more apartment approved volume.

I have both of these. It's driving me crazy. I need to get rid of one but I change my mind every time I plug in. I play clean a lot and the Rambler is so... right. But it doesn't do blues and rock as well although it takes pedals extremely well. My analogy is one (Rambler) is like single malt Scotch, the Skylark is like Grey Goose vodka. Smoky with body vs. crystal clean and pure.

Push the Rambler with a great pedal for blues and rock. I always opt for the amp that gets the cleans right first.

Is that normal for customers to sit on what's going to be someone else's new amp, while they demo another one?

Hey there Gary. Been checking out your vids as I'm considering buying a Rambler. Curious if the brown Rambler in the vid is still available? Where's your shop? Cheers!

Hey Ryan. The Brown Carr Rambler in the TH-cam video is my personal amp. I bought it from the shop where I made (Rainbow guitars) here in Tucson, AZ. www.rainbowguitars.com ..If you contact them, talk to Scott and tell him Gary Roberts referred you. I am not sure if they have any in stock or not. If they don't, they usually have one on order or on the way.
