Something I don’t see brought up a lot is the fact that rodri’s big game record this season is not great. When Madrid knocked them out I didn’t think he really performed at the high level he usually does. When he played in the FA cup final he lost. He got subbed off at half time in the euros final and Spain scored almost immediately without him. (Not saying there’s a correlation I’m just pointing it out)
Rodris case in 22/23 was much better. Treble winner, goal in the quarter final vs Bayern, goal in the final, mvp in the final, nations league winner. But since he was up against Messi nobody was pushing for a ”Rodri ballondor” campaign.
@@TheofficialGodofwar come on now. I ou know damn well that, Rodri getting injured and Spain scoring instantly doesn’t mean that he was holding them back. You know that. A very good season followed by consistent big game performances at the tail end of the season to drag your team does it for me. Jude got all the eyes early because his numbers all came in huge bursts (pause) but end of the season it was Jude 36g/a and Vini 35g/a if I'm not mistaken. I think both guys deserve it anyway but Vini edges it for me.
Vini had an amazing second half to the season being amazing in multiple big games like girona 1 2assists and started the attack for the third goal, barca a hatrick, man city 3 assists, Bayren Munich destroyed them completely and in the final was amazing as well. He also was great in la Liga after returning from injury. This guy had to adjust to a completely new position and had multiple injuries and still prevailed. People just look at stats but don't show the number of games hes played he has 35 g/a in 39 games how is that bad?
Rodri should be extremely proud of his spain performance and being in the top 3 of the ballon d´or, but vini with the champions league campaign, scoring in the final and scoring a hattrick in the supercopa final against barca, which ronaldo never did. Vini has to win it.

Positional bias isn't the reason Rodri not getting this bdor sorry. Modric got it as CM in between the Messi Ronaldo era lmao. @@Niimerium thank you bro I don’t think I’ve seen a comment section on TH-cam this reasonable. What Vini did this season will be talked about for years to come. Brace at the Allianz and then making kimmich and Bayern’s entire defence look like preschoolers. If Neuer didn’t flashback to 2014 Vini probably would’ve had a hattrick or at least another brace. Not to mention it was his shot that neuer dropped for joselu’s equalizer. And then even though ryerson and hummels did a better job at defending him than kimmich, he was still pulling of nutmegs in a ucl final and scored the goal to seal it.
