As far as the video, this combo allows you to safely take out 2-4 people in a quick fight whether they are near their team or not. It is very hard to counter once you get the hang of it. In the video against the hanzo he was alone making my first q not get the cooldown reduction so I didn't land a q the second time around, but thanks to rehgar showing up, I could vp and wait for my q and still kill the hanzo. The full combo is pretty simple E, Q, AA, E, Vorpal Blade, Q, Void, Q While throwing in autos and ws where needed. Thanks for watching :)
Why use Void Prism when can use the other Ult to simply Q + R ?, and after lvl20 you also have another set of full abilities at disposal ? I mean = makes no sense to use a full-on setup/disengage ult for the sake of empowering a self-combo, no ?

Very good video, thank's again for your great content. I've been doing this for a while with zeratul, as I think it's the better build risk/reward-wise. If I may add something, before using your VP it can be very good to do the full combo, then w on the target then VP: E in-Q-E, vorpal-Q-W-R. That way, if by any chance you don't kill the target, he will be slowed right at the end of the VP and you can have an easier time chasing him. Little trick that I learnt from Rich's Zeratul
Thank you for explaining this! I've been trying to figure out the Zeratul combo for a while, but I've never seen anyone actually explain it, so I've been having to try and work it out on my own. I haven't had all that much success with it, mostly because I keep overestimating at what points in the game I can jump in - and also because sometimes the enemy team insta-stuns and then jumps me to death.
I usually take Might of the nerazim for 3 Cleaves or even multiple blinks, but with Void Prison you might as well weave a few singularity spikes in there for that extra bit of damage. Also though I dont keep up with the Competitive stuff or really care about it, im glad you're sticking with the game and informative vid's.
Hi, I’m a Zeratul main, and I used all three builds (cleave, Narazim, auto attack) All three builds have their limitations. Cleave and Nerazim’ limits are quite opposite. Cleave works well against squishy targets that stand next to each other, but weak against enemies that are well distributed. Nerazim is exactly the opposite. Overall cleave build is just easier and more reliable. Both builds, Zeratul always needs to wait for the right moment to engage ( that’s why my and many people’s Zeratul doesn’t do much damage in a losing match, because there is zero right moments ) And one thing you forgot to mention is that, after VP and the third Q, if the warp and VP cancellation are well timed, your second blink would be ready. So after the third cleave, you can simply blink out if things have gone wrong, for example Tyrande or Whitemane’s ult could save the day for them.

I've fallen in love with Zeratul recently and am having decent success with him in TL. I'm planning on making an advanced combo/tips & tricks guide, hopefully I'll actually get around to doing it :P
Nah, this sounds like something Hi-Rez would do. 1. Make big patch (by big I mean couple of skins, 2 maps and one weapon). 2. Give players the "GOTY" edition which means you can buy all the items in the game for single price. 3. Stop supporting the game forever despite giving players a way to waste tons of money for virtual items in a dead game. 4. After couple of years waste more money to make an actual big patch for the game but then realise nobody is playing it. Tribes: Ascend in a nutshell. Good thing I didn't buy anything from item shop because people who did were kinda robbed.

After it was officially dead and I ended up joining empty servers 50% of the time, I switched to Team Fortress 2 which was not as fun and skillful but at least Volvo had some love for it. Then I went to Overwatch. Fuck Hi-Rez, they disrespect their players and they did it multiple times.
Tbh I like to use VP either as a setup for my team when I see a good opportunity or sometimes just to take certain enemies out of a fight (similar to an anub cocoon). I love VP for its many ways of usage and personally think it is one of the strongest setup abilities. And the ability to use it offensive AND defensive in a very effective way makes it so much more worth to me in most cases than the other ultimate. I rarely use VP for the Q combo, as it doesn't work for me that well, but so far I've been quite successful with the alternative uses and it's way more fun for me to play that way.
I have been watching Cris on EU pull of good results with the W build. As in quest at 1, stacking damage at 4, W talent at 7, Might of the Nerazim, I believe it's shield at 13, W at 16 and Spell Heal at 20. Good single Target damage blow up potential. And I have had more fun and found it more interactive than the Cleave Wormhole build. Like to hear your thoughts. Keep up the good work :)

For me ,in my opinion all heroes have more than one or two builds and in this case Zeratul has at least 3 build.Depending on the map,composition etc... you can play this or another, like all builds of all heroes.
Theres nothing wrong with being upset that something bad happened. It's a perfectly normal, healthy response to want to talk about it and vent - i don't think anyone blames you for that. I certainly don't. I'm still gonna play Heroes. I'm hoping the game goes back to its roots in a lot of ways... w/o the pro balance to have to worry about, they can focus on just making a good, fun game again! It can be a blessing in disguise for a lot of us quick match trashcans :)
Man I wish Zeratul was still a good hero. These days even if you manage to get 4 empowered Qs it might not kill someone if they get any healing at all. That coupled with the fact that he’s basically a Murky-level waveclear bot until 16 and... yeah I think you can see where this is going. Just watching this to reminisce about the glory days of Zeratul.
With void prison you can make combos but i prefer might of the nerazim.It gives you more dmg or mobility and maybe healing with the lv 20 talent. Ppl underestimate the other ult and there´s no reason why because might of the nerazim is a very good ult.
I actually think the game got better with the forts spawning catapults and prioritized queuing with healers and tanks. Thanks for staying although the pros are gone!

except you can do things about it. if you get caught out, yeah, it's over. but if you know that zeratul will vorpal back in (which is very obvious), you can react pretty easily. now, if you're someone without CC, well shit, you might just be out of luck. But this combo is nothing compared to LoL or DoTA 2, where in a lot of cases (especially with a very very extreme anti tank meta in LoL that doesn't allow for anything that can't kill a target within 2 seconds), you can actually just die in a single ability, or, more commonly, in one extremely fast rotation. The time it takes Zeratul to kill someone is way lower than the time it takes someone like Irelia, Jax, Katarina, Yi or literally almost every single mage in LoL (annie actually being one of the most horrifying examples of this, since her ult is literally unreactable)
Not paradox would you make a video on what it would take to have a third party do a heros of the storm world championship? Because I would put money toward to help fund it...

Not only does void prison come with the team utility, Nerazim recasts your ability as an untalented version for only 50% of damage. So instead of an extra 100%+40% (or 150%+60% if you hit multiple targets) you get only an extra 50%. You might argue that you get a full reset at 20, which is true, but then you'll have to pass up a very important talent for Q build Zeratul, which is Shadow Mending (Abilities heal for 75% damage dealt to heroes).
Keep it up dude! Game is only dead when people stop playing it. There is almost no development being done for WC3, but people keep playing it because it's a great game. HotS is also a great game, I think it is the best MOBA. I don't think I will stop playing and enjoying it any time soon.
and the Q doesnt do that much damage as you made it out to be, that number is for 3-4 dummies, the ST Q damage is literally shown on the number, it's barely 600dmg, reduced by armor and whatever and your Q will be around 500 or so.

Yeah, this is a cool thing. I remember TS Psalm do a similar thing for a crazy Jaina combo with 16 commands and less damage... :D

Because Void is far better, should be obvious.
Nerazim is also good, but only with the Level 20 Talent for the resets, and in a Cleave build you will take the 75% spellvamp for sure.

Just be an offlaner. Soak. Stay in bushes to fear opp team. Be prepared to get easy kills. That's all u can do before 13\16

Why not take Nerazim? Can you not use it to activate another Cleave, without using prison?
You can, same concept, but Void Prism just has so much more utility for the team
Not only does void prison come with the team utility, Nerazim recasts your ability as an untalented version for only 50% of damage. So instead of an extra 100%+40% (or 150%+60% if you hit multiple targets) you get only an extra 50%. You might argue that you get a full reset at 20, which is true, but then you'll have to pass up a very important talent for Q build Zeratul, which is Shadow Mending (Abilities heal for 75% damage dealt to heroes).

Keep it up dude! Game is only dead when people stop playing it. There is almost no development being done for WC3, but people keep playing it because it's a great game. HotS is also a great game, I think it is the best MOBA. I don't think I will stop playing and enjoying it any time soon.

What? VP-ing to kill the backline or VP-ing to kill the entire team? It's a win win regardless.
void is completely wasted on such a build, you can literally take the copy talent and do 3x Qs attack and cut down the enemy way better, regardless.
and the Q doesnt do that much damage as you made it out to be, that number is for 3-4 dummies,
the ST Q damage is literally shown on the number, it's barely 600dmg, reduced by armor and whatever and your Q will be around 500 or so.
this doesnt make any sense, once u can use 2nd ultimate, w 20sec cooldown
