Just bought a 2010 Fat Boy and needed to see how this works. Yours is the ONLY video I could find that shows it. Much apprecite your video, and was difficult even finding the right kit to do this with. Thanx!
Your video instructions are amazing,so much patience and detail. Going to do mine shortly so you have indeed helped me a lot. One thing is "never" trust clamped joins, always solder the wires.
This video gave me the confidence to tackle the turn signal relocation myself and it was a success! The only problem I ran into with my bike is that the wires became too short after relocating the turn signals (I have a Softail Cross Bones) so I had to add extensions onto the existing wires in order to get enough slack for the wire to reconnect to the circuit board behind the tail light. I talked to a service tech at the Harley dealership and he said they always have to do this. It pissed me off that I paid $50 for the kit and there was no extra wires or mention that this is a potential issue. That was very frustrating, but the bike looks great with the new sissy bar so I'm happy with the end result. Thanks for your help with this video!
Good on you Tim - I'm really pleased for you mate. Yeah, I think the kit lacks a couple of things too, that'd make installation easier.. Keep the shiney side up mate.
Thanks! Your video made sense of the complicated instructions. I did have to completely strip the wires to get them through the hole in the new stalk for the indicators as there was no way they would've fitted with the sleeve still on. They certainly don't make it easy!
Thank You very much for your video, Just did the same job on my 2013 HD Fat Boy LO and it turn out just like you did. Great Job explaining and demonstrating just enough, Keep it UP.
Excellent video, thank you so much. Helped me out a lot while relocating my rear turn signals on my '05 Dyna to make room for saddle bags.thanks again, ride safe.
Thanks for the vid thumbs up for this one. clear and fairly easy instructions to follow.. hoping to change the signal lights on my 09 softail standard fxst. think the last guys who wired mine up got it wrong.. the signal lights stay lit up when i'm riding, but still flash when turning just won't turn off, and I've been pulled over for it.
Are you able to put up a video of the disassembly of the bullet turn signal as you sped through the most difficult part of my project? I'm having difficulty locating video of this part of the turn signal relocation. Otherwise the rest of the video is spot on. Thank you
Heya Chuck - sorry mate a bit tricky now - my son did the edit for me .... but you'll work it out - it's not that difficult - just be gentle & take your time and you'll be right. Let me know how you get on.
Great video I have the same bike can you please tell me what and where can I find the splicer connecter adapter to turn on my signal lights with the brake light so the turn on with the brake lights when you turn on the bike please!!! Thank you
I have just started doing mine and saw a small fault in HDs kit, (11.17) the plastic cover that fills a hole left could let in water and dust into the back of the blinker.. FIX:add some silicone to seal this hole when you add the cover.
ha ha - no worries mate, I do a lot of careful consideration before chopping through the wiring - the relocation instructions are not the easiest to follow, but all became apparent as I progressed through the process. Ride Safe.
David Brown Good stuff David - my next upgrades are an S&S teardrop air filter -- Vance and Hines straight shot slip ons and a V & H Fuelpak to dial it all in - hopefully in next couple of weeks>
Yeah, this is the only real video showing how to get that inner plate out of the bullet signal, which is where I'm at...and you sped through it...Shittt.
Why speed through the two really difficult things about this? 1. removing the inner assembly of the bullet signal and 2. properly aligning and fastening the signal on the extended stalk. Dumb! The rest is child's play.
Sorry you feel that way mate - most of it's common sense - just take it slow, read your instructions carefully etc.. Appears to have helped a few people out and gave them the impetus to have a crack at it themselves. It's not a hand holding exercise, trying using some of those little used grey cells between your ears to solve it yourself before you go throwing the DUMB word about.
