- Kovil Puliyodharai .Variety Rice made with tamarind paste, spices and mixed with cooked rice, sesame oil. Served as prasadam or packed in lunch box and long distance travel.
Puliyodharai Sadam is truly delicious. It is tangy, spicy and keeps you wanting for more. Puliyodharai is Perumal (Vishnu) Temple specialty. This temple style tamarind rice is a bit different than the regular variety.
Ingredients
Raw Rice - 400 GMs
Tamarind - 200 GMs
Turmeric Powder - 4 tsp Mustard - 30 g
Gram Dal - 100 g
Fenugreek - 100g
Urad Dal - 80 g
Dry Red Chilli - 70 g
Coriander Seeds -80g
Gingely Oil - For Cooking Asafoetida - 15 g
Peanuts - 50g
Salt - To Taste
Curry Leaves - As Required
