Thanks for the truth & no bs videos! Very few who do that. Had computer issues & lost track of you & couldn't remember name .. so glad i found it again!!!!
Thank you. Always assess the facts and make a decision with conviction based on your own conclusions. Inevitably what always happens is the cheerleading force gets ahold of a stock and starts pumping it and then we get the "this aged well comments." What these characters fail to realize is that you should invest in companies, not stocks. This isn't a company we'd invest in regardless of what the stock price does.
I eat breakfast 300 yards from 4000 Cubans, who are trained to kill me, so don't think for one second that you can come down here, flash your badge and make me nervous.
Curious if you have an updated view on POET. Still considerable questions about cash burn and dilution, but the underlying tech seems to be gaining traction (I.e. / recently announced deal with Globetronics). Stock has shot from ~$1 to ~$6 since April
When the company pays TH-camr instant analysts with no integrity to promote the stock, that's what happens. No revenues, no interest, no exceptions. That's the updated view. ;)
Glad you enjoyed the piece! Airship is way too small to be on our radar. Declining revenues too? No interest at all no matter how many press releases they pump out.
If anything you can eat the spuds with a good steak or - if you have Yukon Golds - just oven roasted tossed in olive oil with some rosemary needles and sea salt.
IMHO smaller companies like this will have a very difficult time competing with the Hyper Scalers. I would keep away from a company like this but it would be interesting to watch them over the next few years.
These "teams with dreams" businesses are indeed interesting to watch but we don't find them investable. As you said, hyperscalers are likely to dominate here in long run.
Thank you for the kind words. Just remember this. Happens all the time. We come to a conclusion about a COMPANY. The STOCK gets pumped to oblivion. Then all the "this aged well" wankers come around. It always comes down to this. Either the fundamentals keep up with the stock price appreciation or we see a reversion to the mean. Simple as that. We invest in a COMPANY, not a STOCK. :)
@Nanalyze the adage about the stock market being a short-term voting machine, and a long-term weighing machine is a true ism. Most people on TH-cam just haven't gotten to the second part yet. Usually takes a decade or two before you can start to assess performance outcomes but ITW is a great dividend champion that we continue to hold :) It's always the boring ones that creep up on you slowly over time when it comes to outperformance that helps you sleep well at night.
Even as I agree with all your points against investing in APLD, the demand for high performance computing data centers still remains. Can’t it be possible for a shell company with a bad history to stumble upon an actual money making industry? The most recent funding round of 15% from Macquarie announced today along with Microsoft and the us government speculating future investments into AI data centers makes me believe this could still be worth the speculative investment.
Yes, anything is possible. There are some man bites dog stories out there, and there are also better ways to play this same theme which we already have exposure to. As for speculative investments, we always look to invest in leaders and try to avoid "teams with dreams" and "build it and they will come" stories. There are enough great quality companies to invest in out there that we don't feel the need to try and find some diamond in the rough.

@Nanalyze for the long term, I invest in companies with strong fundamentals, but I try to jump in and out along the way to buy low, sell high and capture liquidity.
