0:20 "Is that pipe even real?" To answer your question, I consulted Level Viewer. And, well - both pipes go nowhere. There isn't actually subworld at all. The creator must have been feeling a bit cheeky, since in addition to the fake pipes, they also included a fake dev route consisting of 2 hidden blocks at the start that lead to a snake block that goes across about 20% of the stage before abruptly circling back around. Although it's possible you could use the snake block and skip a few jumps, I think it would actually be a lot more difficult to go that way, since the angle for hitting the Koopa would be bad and you would probably lose a lot of momentum in the process. I dunno, I actually thought it was kind of funny - but, then, I've always been a sucker for fake dev crap 😂
I would add that I think in this case the fake dev route was funny bc it didn't outright kill the player - it really just takes you back to the start. I can see why you'd be mad about the Japanese level with the fake dev death door.
yeah when fake dev exits kill you or "softlock you" I boo those. If they bring you back to the start harmless, I don't boo. Sometimes I just boo fake devs just for having them, I don't always go and double check.
Mario Maker should have had those boos from Mario World that can turn into blocks ... and the blocks from Mario 3 and Mario World that you can pick up and throw.
