    I'm a diy guy and a handyman at that, and I love all of these types of videos that cater to reaching the same results at a fraction of the cost. There's so much hype associated with enjoying the great outdoors. this is an awesome idea. Thx for sharing 👍

    Best part about this video is I have EVERYTHING already, including the paint!
    I made a portable privacy area for a shared hotel room on a beach trip. I got the idea from the screens used when my job had a biometric screening event. I checked the price of one and it was $100! Nope!
    All the PVC parts came to less than $10. Black flat sheet came to $5. Whole thing fits into an old camp chair bag. Once that bag began disintegrating, I made one put of a tarp from $store & used the rest of the tarp to create bags to carry foam flooring for our tent.
    Thanks for the video! LOVE it when I can repurpose & use items from around the house!

    Flipping through Amazon and looking at these crazy prices for a tarp pole. Then i started to brainstorm for a simple solution. Though of PVC, and I knew someone had done it before. Thanks for the ideas. Thanks for the video

      I made a privacy area in a shared hotel room when we went on a beach trip. I got the idea from the biometric screening at my job and all there was was a pop up screen divider.
      All the PVC parts/pieces came to $9, black flat sheet (to thread through the T top), new from a thrift store came to $5.
      The 'official' version started at $100/😮.
      Contrary to popular belief, just because I'm rooming w same gender, I still like privacy and the bathroom isn't always available.
      It gave ample space cat-cornered by the desk area.
      I also put a cross section along the top to hang wet items.
      The entire thing taken apart fit into an old camp chair bag next to my Corolla wheel well.
      Now, I can use the same pieces to make a tarp awning.
      Thanks!

      @signalsoldier u r very welcome signalsoldier! Set my 1985 Coleman Sun Valley up on my property over the 4th weekend and I shot a little video showing all the modifications i have done to it, should have the video released in a week or so, u were on the right track thinking pvc :)

    This is great, and you have thought of every detail! My deck really needs a weatherproof cover/awning. I would love to see a video of you making a stand alone awning/cover for a deck/patio with pvc pipes and polycarbonate sheets.

    Would it be beneficial to fill the support legs with sand and seal them? For some weight to help stabilize...

    • @laffilmfest3759
      @laffilmfest3759  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @pollyester303 hello, I guess u could fill with sand to stabilize, I choose to keep mine as light as possible and I don't glue for easy transport, if they were not transported a lot I can see that helping...thank u for the suggestion!

    I didn't see what you used up at the top for your pin that goes through the grommets on the tarp. Did you use a pipe cap and put a bolt through it?

    • @laffilmfest3759
      @laffilmfest3759  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes...a hole drilled in the cap, stainless steel washers, bolts and nuts...works good, added a small piece of medical tubing to cover the exposed threads so they would not damage the grommets:)
