    Brilliant ideas! I've been struggling with alignment problems for years, but I think the steel ball and the cap will help me. I've been subscribed to your channel for a few months and it's really helping me, love your videos! From Ned in Shanghai, China.

    Brilliantly simple idea of the 52 mm square to check aiming. Undoubtedly one of your best and simplest suggestions; I’ve seen some ghost ball aiming devices but this takes five minutes to make on any PC with publisher and then the vertical line on the square becomes the target. Even after a tiny bit of practice setting shots up it encourages you to get your eyes ‘up’ at the end of the backswing onto the target. Much easier also to walk in on the line of aim when you’re approaching a square target. Brilliant stuff!!

      Dont even need PC and publisher and printer.
      Take paper, ruler, scissors, pen.
      Mix them together make a mess and get better at aiming

    You could get a pair of glasses with Cross Hairs printed on them and will help you see the spot to shoot at. But what eye do u use the left or right bcos there will be 2 cross hairs and one will be aiming at the ceiling and one at the ball.

    when I used to practise a lot I did the bottle thrill, made and insale good on brakes in pool (8-ball 9-ball 10-ball) really a killer thrill if you just want to hit straight to the middle of the ball with insane force :D at some point I was so good the cue ball just bounced 20cm to the air just to land straight to the middle of the table, almost every time!! Oh yeah, I used to do the bottle thrill so that I will hit thrue the bottle and trying to hit dead senter to the bottom of the bottle :D workd like magic on my brakes :D

  • @dazmill697
    @dazmill697 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    I have another thing I use, it's a plumb line tied to the cue, the idea being when down on the correct line the bottom of the plumb line should be over your walk in foot.

    hey... looking at the best players my theory is that they are far more likely to cue directly under, or very close to an eye rather than midway between them. I have been practising with one eye closed and I seem to play much better that way

    Maybe I'm being a bit of a thicko here, but here's my question.
    How does practicing straight cueing with a reflective ball bearing get applied?
    "Your break mate....uhh, what you doing?"
    "Nothing... just swapping the cue ball for my special practice ball"

  • @willmartin4234
    @willmartin4234 4 ปีที่แล้ว

    Hoping someone can help. I play pool (to a pretty decent standard), but I play with my chin a few inches from the cue and I know I don't hit the white straight. I've tried to put my chin against the cue but it doesn't feel comfortable at all. Is it some I should perseve with?

    Great stuff! I use to practice my stroke through a ring. I like the toilet paper roll idea for shooting a ball when practicing. I'm going back to the basics so this video was very useful thank you.
    What is your opinion on lining up with bad eyes? Meaning for me my left eye is better. Even with contacts or glasses my right eye can not get to 20/20. The best it can get is something like 20/30. Using your string on a hat method should my string still hit the stick or should I position my left (better) eye closer to center? So in my case should the string fall slightly to the right of my cue to favor my left eye or keep both centered? I'm 44, been playing since a kid and still trying to figure that one out.
