for the "jumping off high things in games" topic, in ffxiv falling from a great height wont kill you, it just reduces your hp to 1 - allowing you to literally walk it off. so it's rather normal for me to plot a route to include jumping off a cliff or a tower to save some travel time.

Well, as long as you aren't being chased by an enemy. At which point, falling from a great height _will_ kill you.
