Got this set for a school project to model the pieces and assemble them in Solidworks. It's a fun and aesthetic set, and I think it's obvious that the space shuttle configuration is the best of the three.

There are no any Bag 1 or 2 for this set, if you feel that are missing many other pieces then for sure it is a mistake from LEGO and they forgot to add a small bag into that bigger one with pieces, try to change the set into your local store to get new one. By the way, you can see what bags I'm opening at the beginning of the video, check that if it's like your set or not.
03:50 That piece is not getting in. I think I did something wrong, or is supposed to be loosed inside (like in 00:20) ? Edit: Dang it, okay now I get it. Took me a while to figure it out before searching online. Thanks for the video.
@ thank you, I figured it out via Reddit, apparently it’s supposed to just fit in that spot and is held in place by the other pieces, my 5 year old son was not impressed when I was hyping up my Lego skills 😂😂
So I thought it was missing pieces...i started building the astronaut but he was backwards vs what the instructions said...then i started building the mini spaceship. I started trying to build the space shuttle & realized you have to take it apart to build the shuttle?! 😥
@TopBrickBuilder You have any advice on building the astronaut? I was following the instructions but by the time I got to his legs I realized I "flipped" the building process? I am new to Legos...I have a 5 yr old boy. Lol

Do you think this set can be ok (maybe more than one of them) to build a Space 1999 Eagle starship? Many pieces looks fine for that.
Maybe, the main problem could be with the specific pieces for 1999 starship

Are you sure that you have built it right? The only reason if it doesn't fit, you could built it wrong, check it one more time 😉
It’s driving me nuts I can’t get it in either, it works on other pieces but won’t slot into that spot I’m so confused 😢😢😢

Yes, you have to disassembly and rebuild in one of that 3 confections.

Got it, unfortunately you have to rebuild the legs to be sure that you've done them right
