    I have been using one for 2 years now and it has been wonderful. I don't get why people dislike it a lot. Also many people sell these second hand for cheap

    Can it still be used if another driver without the phone and app present?

    Using one for a couple years and it works great! I actually prefer this over factory system!

    I drive a 2022 GMC Canyon which doesn't come with a trailer brake wired in. I have just started using this. This is a great product. Just need to figure out the settings.

    I’m using one and I’m worried about it falling off. How do you know it’s secured well? I use zip ties but looking for a better way.

    I was considering a Jeep Gladiator Ecodiesel to replace my '16 Ram 1500 4wd Ecodiesel. But the Gladiator does NOT have an integrated brake controller available.

    Have you tried the RF Prodigy ?

    • @DavidDance
      @DavidDance 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      yes; worthless. I have had it for years and the RF is intermittent at best. the only saving grace is the manual push button overide which has saved me when the rf was not connecting

      @@DavidDanceWhat do you tow with where the Prodigy doesn't work consistently.

    does the trailer still brake when the pull vehicles brakes are applied?

    • @cujo229
      @cujo229 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Yes but the controller allows you to set how much brake to apply so it works along with tow vehicle. Also the manual ones with toggle allows you to brake trailer more when needed

    • @erethier100
      @erethier100 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, it is a "proportional" brake controller meaning it will apply as much pressure as you do on your main pedal (keeping in mind the tolerance settings you've also adjusted on the unit )@@cujo229

    what if you have another app open as well, such as map, GPS, music, etc?

    • @spoolin55psi
      @spoolin55psi 9 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Works just fine if your running the app I’m using the same device and tow vehicle

  • @spoolin55psi

    Couldn’t you hook it up through Apple car play? That would be cool if so then you can just have the app on the car screen. Might be better then having 1 hand on the wheel and other on the phone.

      I wish, that’s hopefully the next upgrade. You can get the button in the thumbnail which would allow you to control it on the dash 👍🏾

    Will it work in remote areas that don't have cell service ?

      It's bluetooth signal.

    • @erethier100
      @erethier100 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yes, and better yet, it will operate under the last know settings even if it looses all connectivity/pairing/dead battery/dog hate the phone, etc. :-)

  • @John2022-i2q
    @John2022-i2q ปีที่แล้ว +3

    so every time you wanna break the trailer you have to press in the screen manually? What if in case of an emergency? Doesn't make any sense for me this for security reasons

    • @zigarten
      @zigarten ปีที่แล้ว +2

      No you do not. the app is for setting it up, testing and saving the settings. The actual unit keeps your settings regardless of the app's status.

    I thought all towing trucks came with trailer breaks mandatory

    • @JB_WhoWork
      @JB_WhoWork  ปีที่แล้ว

      They should but HD’s are optional with trailer brakes

    • @erethier100

      Thought so too up to last week.... Happens to be something that a lot of vehicles don't have standard... your vehicle may be equipped to tow a large amount of weight, but doesn't necessarily have the braking abilities required.... which was my case on a brand new 23 large SUV.

      Nope optional on some vehicles have to have a certain package to get brake controller,some have spots for them get them at dealer or eBay or do aftermarket controller 🥴
